Im not bothering with the 3500rpm limit as I think that doesnt really apply to the free-revving 172 engine (the manual is the same for all the clio range isnt it?) but at the same time Im not going to push it up to 6000rpm until its got a few hundred miles on it.
Should be interesting to go up...
ESP a comfort? ABS a comfort? Xenon lights a comfort? RUBBISH.
Ive just got a CUP with climate. This crap about the CUP being a stripped out barebones racer is stupid. Its far more comfortable then a VTS/106 which are unbearably low geared for motorway driving and are more noisy overall.
Ive been driving normally. Not thrashing it but not pottering about either. Ive gone over 4000rpm a few times. Its still quicker than most cars without trying.
Yeah, I know all the basics but Id like to know something more in depth about how the decisions came about and how much testing was done etc.
I just read in EVO that the seats are lower in the CUP.
Ive got the V750 cert for the plate and just got my reg document for the car today, so if I go to the DVLA office at chelmsford they will do it there and then?
Looks like I need a Sony MP80 (dont do the 70 anymore) and a connects2 adapter to retain stalk+display then. Anyone recommend where to get this? Cheapest Ive seen the MP80 is about £290
Well it definitely doesnt sound good. A HU change in my 106gti was good enough as the speakers were ok in it.
What make of stalk adapter thingy do I need.
Did you add the head unit before the new speakers Mike? Did it sound ok then?
Ideally Id like the MP70. But getting the right adapter and getting it all fitted might be a bit beyond my budget.
Ok, so the standard head unit is rubbish. Would changing it for something better improve the sound or is it really that the speakers are just not very good?
Ill have a budget of about £250-300 and want mp3 capability.
I had to drive home in the heavy rain on the motorway so I havent had a proper drive yet.
Steering felt precise, no pulling or constant re-correcting that some have reported, it was fast enough even staying under 4000rpm, ride was ok although you feel the car damping all the road undulations...
