best bet is probably in spending a little time reading up on the differences in spec (don't forget the Ph1 172), then, if that hasn't already given a good idea of which you might prefer, drive a few examples of each
it's just a buffer and is on a bracket, but you don't seem able to buy this bracket seperately (it comes with a new mount). should be fine to drive i'd have thought
bought this as well, but thought the article itself was a bit of a let down for the Clio. must be interesting to have your own car in a magazine though
how old was guy who owned the Honda, if you met him? used to know someone of the same name who was into his cars
it's an anonymous looking bolt on the side of the thermostat housing. think there's a picture of it in the workshop manual
it might be worth taking the expansion tank off/disconnecting bottom hose so that you can try to hose/scrub it out, rather than renew it
how much are 1144s?
at that sort of money, think your options are limited to Mintex and EBC.
you want something that works from cold on a roadcar, so that might exclude 1155 and defo excludes Redstuff (from experience!)
best bet's probably in whipping the current one off and taking it along to GSF/etc to compare with what they've got - as said, it's a very common caliper and has been used on the back (and front, in different configuration) of lots of Frenchies for 20+ yrs
unless you buy new from Renault...
might be worth a search as i think there's something to do with the car not being type approved for towing; not sure of the real-world/practical legality of just doing it regardless
looks as though you're missing the bolts as well. could be worth firing up a wanted thread on here, as people take them off when tracking them for weight saving
i'd go for 1., and buy a spare set of springs off of here when they next crop up - they go for next to nothing and aren't difficult to fit if you need to revisit
are those genuine parts you've been quoted for?
that's it - if you're using the steering controls, you need to hold in the button that you use to change between the digits, once you've put the final digit in
boombang, have you spent much time in the Clios yet?
i came from a 205 (recognise you from the driver's forum actually) - the car i have now isn't as characterful imo - quite different to drive and needs thrashing before it provides a similar sense of involvement
perhaps an irrelevant point if...
they're not going to be easy to fit as the OE ones aren't (just fiddly, really)
seem to be conflicting views as to whether or not they're worth the expense/bother
blokes, sorry - think i've confused the issue with some of mine. it does make sense if you read the bulletin and compare that with what there is on the car (which i've gotten wrong i think; haven't looked for a while)
