decent tripod whould be sturdy and easy to operate. the manfrotto Andy mentions above is a decent set of legs ( I've got them). then the head oo'er is the next thing to get.
not quite true since faster lenses let more light in and an f2.8 or faster lens will use cross hair focusing onthe centre point so will be better in low light
using a home printer is not cheap to buy or run. for snap shots 7x5s etc you are far better off using ds colour labs.
as for best home printer you are going to be looking at one of the A3+ printers epson R2880 or HP B9180
I take it you own an entry level nikon without the focus screw?
that alone rules out pretty much all 3rd party lenses. best bet would be buy the sigma 70-300 APO HSM for around £175
did you read the manual?????????????????
too dark would be underexposed, not enough light getting in
too blurry would be too long a shutter speed
read the manual first, and I mean read not just skim through
I got my cards from goodprint - best quality I've seen really nice cards
not used photobox in ages, sent stuff using DScolourlabs for prints and they have been great and significantly cheaper than photobox
its not just colour but contrast that monitor profiling helps but you have to remember than ambient light afects the monitor so I've got several for various places and various lighting
