Lol seems to be a common haynes comment when they have no idea how to remove the part... they just say something like "To remove the engine simply undo the bolts and lift out the car" hmmm....
Hold on though this is renault... where struts randomly have either 52or54mm spacing for no apparent reason... renault where there are about 10 different types of ditzy cap... renault where every part for every car is different depending on what colour socks the guy in the factory was wearing at...

Hmmm I wouldn't want to be stripping and rebuilding(?) an engine with only 'basic' knowledge? When you say good basic knowledge how far does this extend? Removing an engine isn't easy but isn't a huge challenege, but if you want to strip the engine and rebuild it you would need more than basic...

Not an expert on 172s but I think your best bet is to relocate the intake to the front fog (?) to get the best effect... but don't bother with the fan!
Cable heaviness is probably due to the cable being a non-genuine item, if you don't buy a genuine renualt cable almost always its going to be stupidly heavy!
As for it frequently snapping, im not an expert on clutches but when the cable kept snapping on my 1.4 RT I was told it could be the...
Was in Finland last week and was driving from Kuopio to Turku for the Ruisrock and got caught in a pretty bad storm, everyone had to pull over because the rain/hail was so heavy couldn't see a thing!
Only noticed when brakes started making horrible grinding noise, left the car in the car park near Heathrow went on holiday but coming back tomorrow and have to drive all the way back to Bristol :-(
Pad was so worn its already destroyed the disc by creating a deep groove all the way round! As...
No because it did everytime I went over 80mph, when I was about 2 miles away from home thought Id boot it and see if it did it again, and nothing! Took it all the way up to 120 and not a sausage!
With my car I probably wouldn't notice! That or Id get out and put it back on not bat an eyelid and act like it happens all the time haha
Seriously though, its just gone completely :S
Yeah I thought maybe similar but it isn't a rumble and it didn't start out quiet!
I should say I just changed the wheel bearing on that side and there was some issues with the guy having to cut the old one out and the hub being a little fucked... but to cause a noise like that just suddenly...?
Was driving back down my (private) motorway earlier, got to about 110 and f**k me I thought there was a helicopter on my roof the noise was so loud, sounded similar to a jet engine or a helicopter and was load as f**k. Dropped below about 85/90 and it stopped completely!
Took the wheel off...
Yeah I know I should replace both but its just a money issue at the moment!
How dangerous realistically is it to be running discs which aren't worn exactly the same, whats the effects etc.
So I fill the brake fluid level to the top of that tube bit? lol
