Sorry to hear bout this mate, this is the only pic i have of the rear of yours:
p.s we should definately have another Oxford meet once your car is fixed, and the weather is nice!)
Right, my ph1 172 steering wheel is knackered and wanna get it re-trimmed by somebody like Gibson & Boyne. I know there are lots of people who are in the same boat because Renault want over £249 for a steering wheel which "might be the right one, but we wont know until its here, it might be...
Just ordered some clear side repeaters off ebay :-)
Liking the black badge ideas, might do this nxt wknd.
Just gotta find the right splitter now! Would like to get one cheaper than the K-Tec carbon one tho!
Hi,
Had the Ph1 for 10months now and wanna mod the styling a little.
So far:
Silvervisions all round
Ph2 rear lights
Standard wheels in black
Callipers in yellow
Colour coded sidestrips, boot lock and door handles
Sportlines
Was thinking about a slight changes like a splitter of some sort...
Hi,
I am after doing a good clean of my black ph1 today and was after a quick bit of advice!
I know that a PC is the best, however could I use something like this...
This happened on my old Fiesta and was the reverse gear sensor on the gearbox which tells the circuit that reverse has been selected and illuminates the reverse light.
Could be the same??
Was great weekend, although a bit sunburnt!
Yeah has black wheels and sportlines now so should change my pic :-)
It was filty too as the campsite was more like a mud wrestling arena than a field!
YES! I've been spotted for the first time :)
Would have been goin to Tesco for more BBQ food as was camping in Silverstone for the weekend for Formula 1!
:approve:
Good choice mate, I like my little ph-1 and is relatively cheap to run (although never seen much above 30mpg due to relatively short journeys:dapprove:)
Youre right mate, the fronts wernt on then cos the front nuts were too tight :dapprove:
Took it into the workshop at college on Thursday to get a air gun on them!!
It does look lower at the front now!
They are supposed to be -30mm at front and -15mm at rear i think but could be wrong!
I only fitted them yesterday afternoon so should drop a bit more over the next few weeks as they settle in. But I can see a difference in height already.
Fitted sportline springs to the 172 yesterday and am very impressed with ride quality and height :) Not much stiffer when cruising but wicked compared to standard when going for it round bends.
So far I can't reccomend them highly enough!
As above mate, very easy to check level. Just remove the 4 x 10mm bolts on the engine cover and look to the rear left of the engine, remove the sensor connector and unscrew the reservoir cap.
With a torch will easily be able to see the level and top up if needed.
My light came on when going...
I didnt like the callipers at first, but now they have grown on me so will probably keep them.
Will definately be lowering and using tyre gloss (when it stops bloody raining!!)
I have just fitted my recently painted wheels :)
Any comments welcome (by the way the suspension isnt usually that high, been on axle stands for 2 days and hasnt settled down again yet :))
Sportlines and new wheel bolts to come next month!
Before/After:
Right, advice needed :)
I need some opinions, decided to refurb alloys as looking tired but am tempted by doing them in black.
Obviously the first pic is as it is now, and second is photoshop.
(and yes it will be lowered next month) :)
Any opinions welcome
Cheers Sy, been looking at that thread earlier, which made me think about leaving the tyres on.
Pics look really good so thought i could save time/money by not mucking about taking each one to the garage twice for tyres removal/fitting.
Cheers mate
Hi,
I have searched on here for tips and have found some good links, however still a bit unsure :dapprove:
I have some VERY limited experience on painting wheels, but want to do a good job this time!
Have a black PH1 172, with standard wheels and was thinking about removing scratches then...
They are tricky to get in but wont need to take bumper off, unless you have huge hands!!! lol
Drivers side was worse if i remember cos of aircon pipes!
Worth the 10mins effort tho to get rid of the orange glow!
