Am after a cheap ps2 memory card, I know I can get the official for £15 down the high street, just wondering if anyone knows any good sites that have any for cheaper?
Cheers
Steve
bah too late for me :( showing out of stock for my postcode.
Could do with one aswell as my 28" crt has given up the ghost... got a lovely high pitch squeaking noise as soon as you turn it on, and some white smoke after about 10 minutes.
Chatham was sold out before noon, I ended up going to Gravesend Asda to get mine, they had 18 when i phoned them just after noon, and had 4 left when i got there 30ish minutes after.
They wouldn't put any by either.
I went and got one today, cheap media player if you know how to use it :)
Had to travel around 30 miles in total, as my local store had sold out of them
Good job sky only use screw on F's :) Althou maybe it wouldn't have happened if they were crimped.
Sounds like the old guy who installed it used the wrong ones.
They only usually pull out if you really yank at them.
Still its being reinstalled today isn't it? :)
Nice one, about time too.
One of the engineers got the sack today, selling boxes on the side, stupid idiot lol.
I've got 1 of the Sky HD hard disks in my PC, they're maxtor drives, designed for AV purposes, works great for running windows off of, very fast transfer rates :D
Give it a...
tried one of the tiny versions floating about on the net, fitted on a cd, obviously things that weren't really needed, like all the graphics stuff was gone, but as a bare OS it ran quite well on 256, and 512mb ram, using 200mb of ram on bootup.
I went back to server 2003, only uses 95mb or so...
lol, yea i remember my dad buying a reveal cd rom kit, with like 30 games, had to use the sound card as an interface for it, wasn't a true ide interface. 2x beast that was!!
cost my dad several hundred pounds back then...
Was a Reveal SC400, could'nt afford a real soundblaster pro back then :)
lol, so true.
I remember wanting to buy some RAM for my old 486 25mhz beast, 4mb for just over 100 quid.
and it being virtually impossible to fill up the hard disk, all 260mb of it
cable tv (telewest/ntl) will always show artifacts... i get it on my crt tv quite a bit... its them compressing the video stream too much.
Looks evil in a high action scene, starts pixelating (not a box fault)
You'll notice it alot less on BBC1 than to something like UK Gold...
Bitrates for...
Not heard anything about that from inside info...
Theres a big demand on the normal boxes due to the current "See speak surf" offer for £26
So I can't see them doing away with it just yet, cheaper to make the normal ones too obviously :)
Connectivity between portable devices hasn't been...
Its for future use...
Same with the e-sata connection on the back of the Sky HD Box...
I know with the HD box, only 160gb of the hd is used... some of the staff are currently beta testing the new firmware which utilises all 300gb of it, for even more recording :D
USB functionality on the sky+...
I don't think there is many ISP's in the UK that offer totally static IP's.
I know mine is semi static, as the modem is always plugged in, and connected. had the same IP for over a year with Blueyonder.
I know with some ISP's they will charge extra just to have a static ip.
right... am after a news client that can do what I thought newsleecher did... I'm sure it did when I used an older version...
Everytime I download I want the client to create a directory... i.e I download an album, I want it to organise as such...
At the moment newsleecher is just putting...
by the looks of that one, they'll be a socket on the underneath of your laptop, might have a cover over it, you'll just remove that cover and it'll plug into that...
My friend used to have one on his very old P1-75mhz ibm laptop...
Just done a google about, and they do do univeral ones, that...
by the looks of it, thats just a laptop docking station, looking in the 2nd picture there is a connector that the laptop will plug into, but these vary between makes/models.
Don't think they make universal ones as such
you can either use any newsgroup software and download the headers for that newsgroup, which'll take forever, or you can sign upto www.newzbin.com which creates nzb files that tell your newsgroup software to download selected group of articles.
Only like 25p a week, well worth it
I remember when the Webdav bug in IIS got exploited, had a field day scanning all different ranges, usually Uni's etc.
Then there was the MS-SQL exploit which also got used to my advantage.
And then there was also the nice easy administrator password, or even if there was no admin password when...
Just been reading about newshostings retention rate, and people are reporting getting 100+ day retention on the 45 day retention plan...
think I know who i'll go with now :)
Hmm might try them for a month... they're a tad bit more expensive than newshosting but have a higher retention rate, newshosting do a 45 day retention whereas newsdemon does upto 85.
Anybody else got any other suggestions, have looked at giganews but thats very pricey i thought
Right... just sorted out my PC, got a new sata card coming tomorrow for the 2 300gb drives i've got sitting about waiting to be filled with t'internet.
Just wondering if anyone could recommend a news server.
I was with newshosting a while back on their unlimited package for $14 or so...
I personally don't think vista is that great, I'm having to run the Ultimate edition to utilise both the CPU's i've got installed. unlike when XP first came out, nothing really stands out.
Prob cos I don't have the wedge to go out and buy the most expensive gfx card to display Aero and do all...
I think the routers have WPA activated straight away, I'm not 100% on that thou as I don't touch that side of things just yet.
I know there was a WPA protected wireless network where I used to live with the SSID of SKY20201, so I'm going on that assumption as alot of people change the SSID to...
Yea I could do, am just thinking of installing a sata card instead as i'll be using that machine as a workhorse, so needs plenty of storage.
Won't need USB then :)
Only bought the enclosure as I wanted to get use out of a 300gb sata drive i was given.
From my post last week, got my dell precision 530 yesterday and installed windows 2003 server on it, as I prefer that to XP.
Just wondering if anyone knows some good SMP benchmarking programs.
Was going to compare results with a member on here but can't remember who.
Only thing that has...
Just play the competitor card with them, they'll do anything to stop you going elsewhere.
They charge us 99 quid for the HD Box, but we get the full subscription for free, just pay for the box as a 1 off charge, not that I have, I've got cable as I'm not allowed to wack a dish up where I live
pain in the backside as I went and rushed out to buy a DVI to VGA adaptor when I didn't need it...
Well not straight away... paid £4.50 for it when they are no doubt a fair bit cheaper on the bay...
oh well, got 2 monitors for it anyway, just means I can set it up tonight :)
