There should still be plenty of grunt, as it will be pumping out aprox. 180 HP. It will be interesting to see how it stands up againts rivals from the new generation of hot hatches, like the RS-3 and Civic TypeRR with 240HP...
This is the so-called Renault Thalia. Also reffered to as Renault Symbol in some countries...
The pictures really doesn't do it justice - it looks much worse in real life. :)
Dammit, i have the same problem and also can't figure it out...haven't really considered engine mouts though...
As for the topic, i agree the build quality is a big issue with clios...hence, i have been cosidering replacing mine with an ITR or possibly the civic for some time now...
the...
This car is, in all aspects, the best modded clio I've seen so far. Seriously.
I've always prefered the trumpets to a turbo or an SC conversion and the exterior styling is simply amazing, very subtle yet distinctly agressive.
I love it. :)
Clio also posted the best 0-60 mark.
As for the tunability, Integra has a much greater potential IMO, those B18C engines are rock solid, plus I think Honda has a much bigger selection of the aftermarket tuning parts.
But they're great cars in stock trim already - I definitely want one...
Hm, i too have never noticed any hesitation from the throttle at 3000rpm, even when the car was ice-cold...but i've never hammered it when cold...
a funny thing occured to me on todays morning run, though...i was slowly warming up the car, did about 7 miles, keeping the revs between...
Like someone said before, the baffles on the centre section of the exhaust get loose, you could replace them, but the rattle will come back eventualy.
The only permanent solution IMO is to replace the centre section, or better yet get an aftermarket complete exhaust.
Nothin' to be worried...
There is no 7th gen. 1.6 160 HP Civic...only 1.6 110HP and 2.0 160HP...
The 1.6 110HP is a TypeR look-a-like called the Civic Sport, while the 2.0 160HP version is known as the TypeS...
agree
for me, the visual effect wasn't all that important, i really wanted something to help reduce that nasty understeer...and i must say i'm quite impressed with the improvment...
btw: do you have koni sport or koni special on your car?...how much did they cost you?
i've got sportlines on mine and the car doesn't really look significantly lower...like someone said before, it's a noticable, but nothing drastic...
they have been installed just recently though, so i am expecting them to drop slightly more...but it won't make much difference...
IMO, it's all down to personal preferences and your financial options...
i personally prefer the looks on the mk2, but couldn't afford a decent one at the time i was buying...so i picked up an mk1 and i never regreted it...
the differences are small, but noticable, mk1 has a better...
UK is practicaly the only country in europe where the clio cup is sold...and than you have the "normal" clio with cup suspention, trophy etc...
the rest of europe (and the world) knows only clio rs1 and rs2, period...i heard that 25 trophys were sold in Swiss and that's it...
the tyre profile has been lowered and the wheel diameter is basicly the same, the only difference is the rims size...
since the 16" wheels would be heavier, would that have any affect on the results?
If you took the same car to the dyno twice, the only difference being the wheels - 16" the first time and 15" the second time...
Would there be any difference in the dyno results?
when i read the topic title, i thought by chrashed you mean you totaly demolished your clio...
all you got was a few scratches, far from beyond repair...but i know it's annoying as hell, makes you feel bad when you look at the car and even worse when the repair bill comes by...even the...
hehe, i guess mine is also a home made cup then
removed spare wheel from the boot, burned-out ABS fuse and an extra light air freshener, lol :-)
i am seriously considering removing the AC though...how much weight would that save me?...and would it disrupt the car's balance?
don't know about that ek9 type r
they've cut down the weight 30kg compared to civic siR, added 15 more hp...but they've left the gearbox untouched, so it's really hard to tell where they got those impresive 0-60 stats...
anyway, best motoring tested the ek9 type r and they ran it 15.8s...
