no its not really major... its just that i've never known any other cars to sound like that & i'm pretty sure it wasn't like that before the backbox was changed.
is it possible to put some grease or something on the clutch somewhere to stop it... its not really a big problem just doesn't feel...
use the steering wheel controls -i think the volume moves between the digits & the track skip wheel changes the numbers (or the other way round) & then you hold one of the top buttons to set it... is it not in your owners manual?
i noticed yesterday when i was standing out of the car with the engine running that the exhaust seems to be making a strange spitting sound & there was a strange smell coming from somewhere under the car. The exhaust doesn't sound normal & to be honest its never souned right since it was...
when you say projector are you talking about the levelling motor & can you hear it constantly trying to level itself? if so, mine does it all the time so i just unplugged it & then made sure the headlights were aligned manually... i'm not really sure why its broken & the bloke at renault said...
the bulbs are held in place by the leveller aren't they? if thats unplugged itself it will mean they will be free to move & won't be aligned properly. Its the little white box on the back which if you twist should unclip - if its not attached you should be able to pull it straight out (theres...
or is there a fuse for the central locking... obviously not gonna fix the problem and you'd have to lock.unlock manually but probably not gonna be as annoying
could it be one of the door sensors being faulty so theres a fault in the circuit meaning it will keep trying to lock/unlock itself? its only a suggestion... my boot sensor used to randomly trick the car into thinking the boot was open mid journey & used to set the alarm off every now and then...
what sort of cleaner do you mean? the spots seem strange as they are only on the badges and no where else on the car...
would you need a special type of paint?
can you buy replacement badges (the 2.0 side badge) - mine are covered in these wierd black spots which won't clean off & so i'd like to get new ones if they don't cost too much
is the little warning light on the dash for ESP or TC? i haven't got one of those buttons by your knee so I'm guessing I don't have it but mines an '02 and my mates got a '03 and neither does his
could it be the aspirator fans not working or even unplugged? its located in the interior light housing & normally makes an annoying buzz - i've read people unplug them to stop the noise so it might be that its not detecting the temperature properly
normally its attached directly to the fan (should be a small box looking thing that clips onto the fan with wires running into it)... i'm not too sure about the setup on the 172/182 but on my old clio & my mates thats how it was... the wire running to the resistor kept burning itself out and...
will it really cure the problem? the noise seems to be coming from the plastics vibrating & not the fan itself so i bet it would do exactly the same thing again... otherwise they are £20ish from renault
probably a silly question but how do you remove the airbox? i've undone the two bolts and unclipped the top hoses so it moves a bit but i can't seem to actually manouvre it out.
the resistors normally attached directly to the fan... on my old clio & my mates the connector used to burn itself out every few months after i'd changed it so it would work randomly and not on all the settings... i'd check the connector first & then change the resistor - probably be able to get...
it won't work without an earth...or at least my old clio horn wouldn't... so you'll need to a wire from each terminal to the earth and battery (i'm not sure if it matters which terminal though)
everynow and then my car won't start properly... it will turn over but its only when i hit the throttle that it starts.
i've got no idea about mechanics so wouldn't really know where to start - i've heard the spark plugs could need cleaning/changing or the leads etc?
any ideas appreciated...
they cost £20ish - but i'd take it apart first to see if its broken or not... normally they buzz alot but it could be that the fans not moving at all on yours - although i can't really see how that would be your problem anyway
kwikfit will regas it for £20ish & if it doesn't make any difference you can get a refund, otherwise you can normally get it serviced for about £80ish where they check for leaks etc. & then tell you its going to cost £300 to fix
the same thing happened in mine & it turned out to be a dody boot sensor - the door open light would go on and off randomly even when i hadn't touched the boot, so i just got a new one from the scrapyard for a £5
i had the same problem on mine... i tried cleaning & oiling the fan but that didn't seem to work as most of the sound seems to be coming from the casing vibrating rather than the fan itself. i tried packing it with foam & putting silicon in the clips to reduce the vibration but if anything i...
