Black gold 182 with anthracite cup wheels in Race Circuit car park at FIA GT championship/ Ferrari challenge on Saturday.
Parked opposite your car late morning til about 4.30pm.
Went down to Silverstone on Saturday to the Ferrari Challenge and FIA GT3 & GT championship. Had a good day for £15 entry - weather was a bit cold though:(
Downscaled pics to 800 x 600 so apologies if some look a bit rough round the edges.
Here goes....
^^^ Got to have been the noisiest...
Depends how big yr silencer is I suppose. Plus when mine was fitted they lobbed the crappy Renault backbox hanger and replaced it with the ones you see in the pics.
You can get them dyno'd at Top Gear.
All the silencers are straight thro, so gains are there to be had, just casing diameter and styles change along with how much sound absorbing packing is fitted inside, hence affecting the exhaust note.
In complete honesty, mine seemed to lose a bit of low...
Cambelt change is simply cambelt changed, though a lot of people recommend the tensioners and pulleys changed at same time, hence cambelt + tensioner kit.
Water pump might as well be fitted at same time, as its only gonna cost about £50 extra, but you will have to ask for that to be changed...
Yep. Me:D
Pipework diameter as original renault exhaust. Trying to keep it sporty, but not too noisy and it is pretty good.
Cat back, single middle silencer, single rear backbox silencer stealth fitment. Its been on the car about 18 months and I havent had a problem with it. Got it fitted at...
After some good recommendations I have purchase the OPITMATE III SP charger today from the Forza Italia motorbike shop at Silverstone race circuit.
I notice it says its suitable for batteries up to 32Ah, yet the battery on mine is 42Ah.
Any problem with that? I paid £45 which is about 5quid...
Just bought one of these USB external hard drives [160gb] to back up all my current laptop drive.
The included WD sync software is reasonably good, but accessing the backed up data is a bit fiddly. You have to view it thro the WD sync software as its encrypted. Not exactly what I wanted. I'm...
SBV116 - cheers mate, yeah can you pass that part code on for me to have a look at.
Rich - I'm alright thanks mate, that CTEK looks a nice piece of kit. I'd like to get something sorted by the weekend, so will give them a call in the morning.
Magic stuff, thanks Rich. I didnt know you'd come to the rescue with this type of question!!:approve:
Thats the kind of thing I'm looking for.:D
How you keeping?
Ok so I returned the trickle charger back and got my money back this morning.
Because the battery had been disconnected to recharge it, I lost the radio and the alarm went off when I reconnected.
Luckily I had the radio code in the manual.
Funnily enough, the Maypole trickle charger charged...
Can I keep the battery connected to the car normally and just clip the trickle charger terminals on top??
Saves messing the alarm/radio or anything else up.
The guy at the autofactors place down the road said he thinks not.:S
I havent been using the 172 much recently, been using the missus car instead.
Hence its been 2-3 weeks without going out, then a 1hr blast on a Sunday, then 2-3 weeks before using it again etc etc.
Basically the battery has lost its charge, the radio and alarm still work, just not enough juice...
Saw, and heard ;) you caning it down A617 Centenary Avenue from Mansfield towards A614 roundabout.
See this car quite a bit.
Sounded bl00dy superb today.:D
Cheers for the thumbs up Neil:approve:, for £230 notes it not a bad system. I can hear myself perfectly well at all speeds, only a bit noisier than standard, it makes a nice note when yr gunning it and its still in decent nick after a year and a half.
You should hear it at 130 clicks on the...
Yeah it looks crap in the pic, but its been on 18 months and its never been cleaned or wiped over yet. A bit mucky would be an understatement. Needs a bit of autosol on it.
Weekend work lined up then, I'll post results when they're done....just for you;)
IIRC the KTEC one is made by Janspeed and the GDI one is made by Piper.
Both are pretty good exhausts from reputable companies. Better waiting for some opinions from owners who have them on their cars though.
You could always go the custom route like me. I paid £230 fitted for a powerflow...
Sorry for late reply pepsi....
Sockets were already fitted by housebuilder [2 No, 1 upstairs, 1 down] with wiring into loft.
Engineer fitted aerial around chimney, trailed cables into loft, connected cables and checked reception. Job done.
Must recommend getting a decent aerial cable from yr...
I've got a D-Max 52 element high gain digital aerial. £90 fitted iirc. [New house, so no aerial or cabling to start with]
Get 10/10 signal strenth on all the digital freeview channels.:D
Does yr new HDTV upscale the digital pictures to make the most of the greater number of pixels available?
Mondial Blue Nez. Mine is Monaco;)
Cant believe yours is the only reply, especially when the guy has a Cliosport sticker in the back.
Ah well.
