How long should it take for a garage to change a drive shaft on my 172? Also anyone know where I can get one from that doesnt cost the earth? Should I try Matt? Thanks.

damn, just tried to loosen mounts to move them forward but neck of socket tool thingy isnt long enough, bummer!!! Off to renault tomorrow.

didnt work, replaced with the straight dog mone mount and bushes, as apparently this is a replacement for the twisted mount for exactly that reason, gonna look at the top mounts and slide them forward to see if this helps.

Had the straight uprated dogbone mount that renault replaced the twisted one with. Replaced it, still have the bloody noise. Its got worse too, gradually... it only happens when there is strain on the engine gear box, i.e. when letting clutch up to pull away, when ever I go over any bumps or...

HAd a new battery fitted today and it has held its memory for the first time in 7 months!!! Yey!

They retal at about £1000, + subframes at approx £75 each. Hopefully theyll be cheaper here, group buy!!!

Fred, Would be interested to know that price, as i want to purchace a set of these seats early next month. I.e. in three weeks? Gonna fit then myself, as it cant be too hard to unbolt a seat and replace it, I have the majority of the basic tools... Alex.

Will they fit, are they easy to fit yourself, I know you need the subframes from renault and they are about £40 each, and finally are they lower than the standard seats, and oh yeah how much do they cost?

I know what you mean about them looking too small, may lower car a bit to compensate...

getting prospeed in cardiff next weekend, had many good reports, not one person unhappy as yet... that i know of anyway! Good value for money too, £320 approx considering kwick fit will replace standard stealth for £360, cat back that is.

My Ph-quick does it in about 6.6-7.5 depending on variables, like weather, etc..

I know, couldn't be bothered to wait all night, they were in ok condition so little sanding required for middle parts, primed, painted and laquered all in one go, came out alright to. Ill probably change them in about 6-12 months again anyway!

red, and buy my caliper paint I paid a tenner for for £5 ;-) I hardly used any of it... pm if interested, just put up a pic of the wheels so you can see the red i mean.

yeah the old ones were rusty an a couple broke when i removed them, need to buy some from somewhere, not sure whether to keep them silver of go grey like the rest of the wheel or red, ill have to experiment...

Took a very helpful how to from here, refurbing/painting wheels, 3/4 of a day and £45 later, and they are growing on me as time passes. I am growing to really like them, wasnt sure at first, did the spare to for good measure so money saved £200, don't now if i'd do it again would just save up...
