Not keen to mess around with pods etc, guess ill have to stick with the 13cm/5 1/4" speakers for now... The phase Linear Audiophile 15s look nice, expensive but nice for front components.
Yes it is possible, and the part you need is Alpine KCE-840B Renault Steering (OEM) wheel interface. Its £49.99 for msc-direct.
So thats Ipod INterface, steering controls, Apline head unit, all for £389!... bargain...
As the title says, I understand that all 13cm front component speakers will fit in the front doors, but I would really like some 17cm speakers in there, will they fit easily or does it involve alot of work. Also is it easy to fit the Alpine Ipod adapter and alpine head unit myself?
Any...
The question I was asking is do you have to fork out £70 for the Alpie adaptor or is there a cheaper generic one? It can be done with the alpine adaptor.
PS the head unit in the shop was at £450, he offered it to me for £400 but its £300 on car audio direct, so thats where ill be getting it...
Agreed, went to a good ice shop in battersea (Sexton) and the guy there had JL front components and an 8" sub, + amp and it sounded great. Thats what Im going to do in the 182 when it arrives... + Ipod adapter, and stalk control if it works for the new clios.
Want to get this head unit. Ipod adaptors to. Been offered a stalk control that is made by alpine, but it costs £70! Is there a cheaper one for a 55 reg Clio 182 as the ones on car audio seem to only say they are for older clios?
Also Does this Alpine Head unit/Ipod adaptor charge the Ipod...
Need to get it where when you are in the car and have your key fob with you, it recognises it and then you can push the button, when you leave the car engine should turn off automatically as the key fob has left the building... nice.
Gonna go with Mcbunny sugestion, get front components, for about £250 run them off the existing head unit and see how that is and take it from there.
What is the RMS output of the existing head unit?
Already have a large sterio in the house, i consider this as, lets say, branching out...:D...will prob just get some nice components for now, see how that goes for the time being.
Cheers
Ahh i understand and i assume the 5 1/4/13cm fit right in to the existing space? - Also as I understand it a seperate amp will also be needed? Wehere will that go? The tweeters I assume will replace the existing ones also?
Sorry for all the questions.
How about;
Front component - Genesis Audiophile Midbass 13 Mid range Bass to replace the front speakers (recommended 20-100watt Amp (4 ohm)). Move the front speakers to the back for now - £149.99 (Will these fit in the front or do I need to encourage them i any way?)
Pioneer GM3100T Amp - 2...
Would you say;
approx;
Head unit - £250/Front Components - £150/Amp to power components - £?/Sigle sub - £150/Amp to power sub - £?/ Cables - £?/Steering Stalk control adaptor - £32/I-pod adapter - £?.
Feel free to fill in the blanks...:D... yep I think this is the way I will go then. Off...
Does the sub have to go in the boot as my golf clubs barely fit, is there anywhere esle it can go...?
Bryan - think your spot on, when you say front components you mean front speakers plus tweeters?
Anyone know of a good ICE shop near South london or surrounding areas?
Cheers everyon...
Thanks for all the help guys,
Brooky182 "Two sets of infinity components" - does that mean a set for the front and a set for the back? - is the car small enough to use one set throughout?
6" splits are the mid range, arent they, and they replace the original speakers in the driver and...

Whats the best way to start to modify the Clio 182 sound system?
I dont want a riduculously loud system, something that can be removed fairly easily that has superb sound quality, but not huge amounts of base to make the car fall to pieces! Im thinking;
1). Reinforced shelf of some sort (not...
P.s. the trophy is 1 second quicker round renau;ts 3km test track!! And thats driven by professionals, I personally liked the toys in the 182, and when I test drove them both the Trophy was unbarably bumpy, and as I live in Central London, I think that makes my choice easier... delivery in 6...
