Yeah I've seen him knocking about a couple of times.
Had the ph-1 for about a year now and I agree, I do prefer Odyssey over the other ph-1 colours but I did prefer the Cup I owned before it.
Yeahhh I'm in Davyhulme and I spend quite a bit of time around Asda and KK's. If you see mine you'll not miss it lol, it's blue with bright orange wheels.
Yeah I managed to get it to fit in the end but had to leave important washers off etc. Few months down the line one of the spring bolts failed and I had a blow from the join.
Not sure if k-tec have updated their cat fitting kits but I bought one from k-tec last year and the bolts were to short and the kit just didn't seem to fit properly. Replaced it with a kit from Renault and there was quite a big difference between the two kits.
Dephaser doesn't really start effecting anything until it's really knackered. I had one that was at that state and it didn't really make the car slow, just caused flat spots in acceleration.
Jon should clean the cars owned by the owners who are travelling a fair distance purely as a gesture of good will. ;)
Meet at JonG's prior to the meet? :D
It was already mapped at RSTuning, My thinking was Paul's map for the 1*2s isn't really a custom one, just one he wrote and uses for all clios standard/lightly modified, so something like an RSInlet wasn't going to make much difference to the map.
Not saying the change was massive but you...
Bit of a pain really, it's not difficult just an arse trying to line up the gasket as you bolt the lower inlet on. You have to remove quite a bit of stuff to get them off as well
Fitted RSInlets to mine a couple of weeks ago Dan. Car felt more responsive and more eager if you get what I mean? So I imagine having a proper set of matched inlets would make a noticeable difference.
Looks a lot tidier now :)
Did you take the front calipers off or paint them in situ? I painted the one's on my old Cup in situ and I'd never do it that way again lol.
Try undoing the 4 bolts that hold the upper engine mount to the car and then pulling the engine forward. Sometimes when people have had cambelt changes the garage that have done the work don't fit the engine mount in the correct position. There's a guide in the guide section on how to do it...
Just an update for future reference.
Replaced the spring bolts on the Manifold/Cat pipe and the rattle buzzing has disappeared. Became apparent it was the issue when I removed them.
Re: Enhancement Detail - RenaultSport Clio 182 in Racing Blue finished in Zymol Glasu
Cracking job you've made of it Russ, often read your write ups on detail jobs you've done and how well the car looks afterwards but got to see your work 1st hand before and it's very impressive. Could see...
Think I've found where the noise is coming from. Found a blow on a joint on the exhaust, sorted that out this morning and that seems to have quietened the noise down but noticed those spring bolts that hold the decat to the manifold were quite loose. Tried to tighten them up but there as tight...
Yes it's the same set up as yours. Had a look round and put a ratchet on every bolt in that area including the one's on the lower inlet to make sure everything was tight and it's still rattling away. Bit of a weird one.
