    Your old box would've had a speedo drive, so guessing it's y/51/02 plate. So you need to find a box with a speedo drive.

    I don't replace just the joint no. Too risky to warranty IMO. I only use Renault parts, so for my price you get a full hub. Where are you based?

    I had one in today with an R3 manifold, pistons are dead in it. Has done a week of driving unmapped for the manifold and today it was down to 165-170psi compression. Bore scoped it and saw a knackered piston 😧 Excuse the crap picture.

    Renault revised the sensor due to the issues and changed the plug, they changed the metals in the contacts iirc.

    Christ, I've never known them that expensive. If you buy both parts maybe, but there's no need to. The unit itself retails around the £200 mark. And is about 2 hours to change.

    If it's for a 197 then pretty much all of the above is incorrect. The joint is part of the hub, you can get after market ones, but by the time you've faffed about setting the press up to support the hub you'll have spent that in labour. Buy the complete hub and you have warranty from Renault...

    But then again a £100k rolling road/premises/electricity doesn't pay for itself. You're also paying for the knowledge it's done correctly and right. The reason us specialists charge more than your back street garage is because you're paying for our knowledge of the vehicles, not some mechanic...

    It's not the plug that's different, it's the connections inside, so unless it's a blue plug then it's still incorrect.

    So small update, Did a bit of wiring, and this was the result: Doesn't sound too bad for an engine that hasn't turned a degree for 3 years. Nice To hear it crank and see that it's registering crank signal. DCI 100 pedal box Blower ordered from clioturbo, GT3071r with a 4" inlet.

    I bet the aux belt has gone into the cambelt and jumped it at the crank. Big bill now.
