Re: Chester meet pics 23.05.10
I was going to venture down but once I'd finished what I was doing it was to late for me to get there for the meeting time, like I say I'll try and make it to the next one.
Nice Vee by the way ;)

You sound a little envious of Manchester :rasp: You could always move here and endure the vast amount of chavs, built up areas and lack of country roads :dead: lol.
I'll try and make it to the next one, driven a few roads around the Chester and North Wales area...
Put something under the backbox as well so the exhaust doesn't drop down. If it swings on the centre exhaust mount it can damage that. Learnt that from previous experience :o
Mine's the same, if you rev hard through the 3k tinny noise, you don't really notice it but if you're driving normally and sit at 3k for any period of time it sounds like it's rattling.
Hmmm, not overly keen on the yellow but then again I'm not a huge fan of in your face bright colours.
I kept looking at reverting mine back to silver after seeing a few Cups with silver wheels but it just seemed to "standard" for me. They do look good silver though.
Going to sound really daft this but are the wheel nuts tight? I recently had a knocking noise that was more pronounced when I turned right. Turned out the wheel nuts had worked themselves loose.
Had one of these a few years ago, it was the worst car I'd ever owned, it was shockingly bad and falling to pieces, yet it sounds mint compared to that.
Try Steve79 off here mate, got my 1st one off him, I ended up breaking that one and Steve didn't have anymore at the time so I got another one off a lad on here. Stick a wanted thread up too because now and then people do have them. Paid £8 posted for each of them.
Sounds exactly like mine, have you got a heat shield on the starter motor? Mine didn't and the manifold was cooking the starter motor. It had a new starter and the problem came back after about 2months, fitted the heatshield and it seems to have cured the problem.
Ah right, I was always lead to believe it'd stop it turning over as well.
Try giving the starter solenoid a tap with something as that can get stuck, I used a thin bar through the manifold to hit it with when mine played up. Or as you've mentioned, bump start it.
You can definitely get the touch pen as I've got one. Only other thing you can do is keep your eyes out in the for sale section as they do pop up now and then.
When mine was playing up and not starting, it was down to the starter motor, try the TDC sensor 1st though as it's cheaper and a common issue, try removing it and giving it a clean.
^^ As above. Just stick your hand under both seats and wiggle the wires, it should go off.
Mine does it alot, got to the point where I just ignore them now, normally go off of their own accord.
Just recently my washer jets have been playing up again, rear works fine but the fronts are being temperamental. Before all I was getting was a tiny dribble out of the jets.
Just thought I'd check for blockages before replacing the motor, did this by attaching a small pump and blasted air down...
Awful smell to it isn't it? I dropped the sump plug in the bucket when I dropped my gearbox oil and had to stick my hand in the old oil. Took ages to get rid of the smell.
