When you start it up during the recent cold mornings, have a look under the car, if you see any exhaust gasses escaping along the system you've got a leak/it's blowing.
Re: Insurance. Fookers! (young 172/182 owners look in)
+1 for Brentacre
3 years NCB, sp30 on my license, all mods declared, paying 759 for the year. Would have been a damn sight cheaper if it wasn't down to my postcode being in group E.

I'm on my 2nd Cup now. Main reasons I picked the Cup was on the idea of "less to go wrong" but that hasn't really worked out as I thought lol. Also wears the best colour IMO.
Had it happen a few times to me during the latest cold snap. Feel a right tit trying to get your filler cap off when there's loads of car waiting behind you waiting to fill up lol.
Is that what the "S" stands for in "182 S" that's written under your Avatar?
Tidy looking motor, nice and clean too.
I really need to get stuck in to mine soon, it's not been washed for a month and it's never been so dirty since I've owned it. :dead:
Not sure on that one to be honest.
Is it random? My 52 plate Cup had locks on both sides but my 03 plate Cup has locks on only one side.
I remember a thread coming up about it a while ago and someone in that said 03 plate Cups only had locks on one side due to Renault's cost cutting/weight...
Well I did think it was down to the cold at 1st but mine haven't worked for the past 2 days lol. When your's weren't working did you get any noises from the motor?
Following up from this thread I posted up months ago I think the motor has finally packed up. I 1st thought the motor might have been frozen up as there's no noises coming from it at all.
It's a little warmer today and it's exactly the same so I do think the motor is dead.
Does anyone know...
If you've got the money to throw at it and it wouldn't harm you financially then why not? If I was in a "money's no object" situation I'd seriously considering having the work done.
Lol.
I remember seeing a video of someone doing that, they ended up hitting a barrier and tipping the car over on it's roof. Sure the video was posted on here somewhere.
Mine climbed an extra £20 after gaining my 3rd years NCB, I'll never understand how insurance companies figure out their prices.
As said it's best to shop around. Some people stick with the same company for years even though they could be saving £££s with someone else.
Ahhh did you? Must have seen me driving really slowly staring at your car intently then :rasp: lol You didn't buy your car off Dan (Peperami) off here did you?
