Did you talk to Gary? and yeah I agree much more relaxed, you actually got time to think lol. He said to me quite a few people off this forum insure their cars with Brentacre.
Gave me a reasonable quote but were beaten by Brentacre.
Only quibble I had was the girl I spoke to on the phone. She was talking really quickly and trying to fire through all the relevant question as quickly as possible. Then tried to get to me to take out the policy even though I made it...
Oh dear, I'm with them and have different coloured alloys. Good job I'm ditching them on the 11th. I always thought you was ok unless you actually changed the alloys.
About 3 days ago it was parked up literally round the corner from me, a 10 second walk from my house. Couldn't tell if it was a Cup or not because it was all Frosted over but it did have Turinis. Was going to flyer it but it'd gone when I got back home that day.
Did you exchange insurance details though? I know you said there was no damage but it's always worth doing incase you find some damage in the near future.
Re: Mass NY & NW meet Saturday 30th Jan!!
Nice! Got any pictures of it?
You kept that one quiet, or I'm just being blind and missed any threads you posted about it lol
Re: Mass NY & NW meet Saturday 30th Jan!!
I'll put my decat back on and make sure I'm 1st on again to wake them all up ;).
Can't believe I'd missed this thread but I should be able to make an appearance seeing as it's 5 minutes away from me.
Ah right, the angle must be throwing me off then lol.
What I'd do then is undo the top caps off each side, so they both look like they do in the 2nd picture. The rubber under the gold coloured nut is the top mount. Make sure they visually look the same because if one is upside down they'll...
In the 1st picture that's how both of mine sit now. In the 2nd picture where the cap is actually sitting down on the turret, that's how mine was sitting when the top mount was fitted upside down.
If you have a search around the site for "uprated k-tec engine mounts" you'll be able to view other people's opinions of them. The powerflex mounts I've got in mine cause more alot of vibration in the cabin on idle but it doesn't bother me.
Does the gearstick waggle about when you're booting...
I went with the standard mounts from Renault and used powerflex mounts in my lower engine mount (dogbone mount). In the long run it's probably better to go for the more expensive k-tec mounts because they'll last longer. If you do though be prepared for extra cabin vibrations.
The knocking/vibrating just gets worse and worse over time, can't imagine it'll do it any good to just leave it though. I've replaced 3 of the 4 of mine up to now.
Not quite sure what you mean there mate but it sounds similar to an issue I had where the the top caps (the metal cap things that screw to the top of the shocker inside the engine bay) sat uneven. Turned out when the previous owner had rebuilt the shocks he'd fitted the top mount upside down.
Do you mean the moisture weeping from the joint? It could just be the gasket that's given up, mine was the same so I just used sealant to stop it blowing/leaking.
Some great shots in there, and lol at the one's of mine capturing how dirty it was :o.
And Jamie bragging about cheating himself to a win during our little blast again I see? :rasp: lol
Sounds daft but is the button pressed in? Because a plastic lug might have snapped and the button is out thus keeping the circuit open. (happened to me). Other than that I can only think it's a UCH issue.
LOL.
The snow washed abit of the crap off mine but the rest of it is manky. Going for the "I drive it rather than detail it" look :o.
What was the problem with yours in the end? Or haven't you isolated it yet?
D.I.Y it like people have already said, it's easy, just abit tedious and I'd be wanting to do it in somewhere sheltered. I did mine last summer, fook sitting down to do them with the way the weather is right now.
