my inlets are painted with a normal rattle can of matte black paint. rocker is also painted with a normal rattle can but silver. works fine and hasn't chipped at all yet.
header tank can be cleaned with normal shampoo or any cleaner tbh. wont come up crystal clear but clean enough.
i agree with jack_davey.
my rs inlets were worth matching imo, they are so smooth inside now, from factory they were a little pitted and every little helps. 1mm more capacity over a area of half a square cubic metre (for instance) is worth having! and its a fairly cheap mod.
wow! this is looking great, not seen the progress thread for a little while but its really come on well! im all out of suggestions to be honest apart from trying to lower it another 20mm or so like you said. great work!
press the button on the end of the right stalk 3 times (iirc), that will display mpg. then press the button on the dials to reset the trip.
edit: beaten to it.
as title. my car will be getting a coat of collinite 476s soon and i was wondering if its ok to use meguires tech wax (spray) as a top up now and again? or will it break down the collinite?
cheers
i think i must be too old for this, i like the odd pop and bang on overrun (which mine does) but not every time you stick your foot down and shooting out big flames!
i think there will be 2 reactions on the road to this...
1- cool!
2- tw*t, chav, di*k etc...
***quick update***
just a little update for anyone who might be interested in the cat and silencer modification. i have just got back from my mot and it passed with no problems at all.
just going off what they said ferd. was in for lots of other work and it was very cheap (as my mate is the owners son). they said the original match was not very good and it was worth doing.
i have 'rs stamped' inlets and when jabbasport matched the upper and lower inlets for me they said it was well worth doing. took over 1mm out.
i would have matched inlets over decat anyday, i don't like headache's.
cheers toby. yeah i have a good wash routine and i look after my towels, mitts, microfibres etc. might try some of this blackhole stuff then, i will look for it on i4 and cleanyourcar.
thanks for all of the help guys. still cant really work out if its a good idea or not. don't want to go making the paintwork worse. might just stick to my usual cleaning routine then pay someone to polish it at the start of next summer. better safe than sorry i guess.
very little. i polished my mates car using his dads rotary and thats about it. i usually get pretty good results by hand, just thought it would be handy having the option to use a machine. was also thinking of using it to remove the imperfections from my headlights.
