Never stripped a box in my life (credit card race driver). I read an awful lot though... have never heard of such a thing.
I'm hopefully having a chat with the fella tomorrow, will report back once I get some insight.
Hi,
I'm looking to book the Ph1 in for a new box as the diff bearings went in mine. The garage I have asked for a quote with mentioned a different gearbox with bigger stronger diff bearings.
Anyone know what he's talking about? Were the later boxes updated? I'm curious.
If you do...
Its proper old school anti lag. Literally called "Bang Bang" anti lag in the rally circles. I miss it a lot, I hate the more modern EGR systems and such.
If you have the coilove type rear damper, you could always look at a stiffer rear spring.
I have the same suspension set-up as you (OP) and I tend to find its Very neutral. I find the rear grips well and that its more likely to pop up on three wheels than slide, bags of LOO in the wet though!
Soooo....
Dirt Rally, can't post any links in work as "gaming"is blocked.
But I came across this game this morning. Apparently its a rally sim by Codies.
I believe there are a few Codemasters employees on here. Can anyone shed some light as to how it came about and what its future is. Seems...
Hi,
Hope you can hear the noise clear enough (le clio is just a collection of different noises).
I'm looking to get an idea of what is wrong. Curiosity more than anything. I feel like its the diff, but that's just my gut feel. Part of me thinks it could even be lack of oil, but that was...
The box on my ph1 has sounded like a straight cut on coasting for a while now. Its the original gearbox and has 240,000km on it.
I noticed last night that the whine has gone. Its now been replaced with a dull clicking, knocking, clunking noise on coast. If I leave it in 5th gear, very low revs...
I am sure in the past I have seen things you can shove in the exhaust (with plates in it) to reduce the DB at the cost of flow. I need something like this for the road.
I can't for the life of me seem to find anything.
Anyone know of such a product?
Yeah, I think you need a rebuild. I get it popping out of 1st, I get a crunch in 4th and it sounds like a straight cut box at the low end.
I think I also have slop in my Diff...
And its been like this for 2 years!
I think trying to make that model better would be a waste of your time, you would end up re-doing a lot of it.
I can quite probably make the physics with the physics suit from Kunos, rear suspension could be a pain though, but im sure i could get my head around it. I had a play with the base...
I have 460 hours on this game now.
If you want to have some real fun. Download Lake Louise beta (track) and do a few laps to get to know it. Its the most fun I have ever had on my PC.
