Extreamly unlikely for a 52 plate 65 to have the wiring at all. I'm guessing your car doesn't have climate control, as most climate control looms I've seen have had it.
Tracker (the company) have a exclusive deal with the police, so they can be tracked by the coppers with the things in their cars. They are also a brilliant company to deal with, and they ring you when the car moves without ignition, which can be funny sometimes.

It has auto wipers, so most likely the sensor on the windscreen, assuming it is actually raining.

Needs a gap, its not right having that sat on the bodywork. That top bit spins when you turn the steering, so it'll be making the steering heavier etc etc

Not adjustable from factory, but theres a chance one of your wishbones has been changed for a less/more caster one, as for example, most 172's exc cup come with normal wishbones, while Cups and 182's come with added caster.
Build tollerances at the factory can cause issues too, and it would...

While I had it all apart, changed the top mount bearing for a used spare one I had, as I've smashed a fourth one in 6months. Solid mounts coming soon.

I've thought this a couple of times with my Clio, but have found the brake lights come on just as the brakes start to act, I'm guessing yours are a bit firmer.
Other than adjusting the switch or buying a new one as you have, only option is to space the switch or something.
