Why have they even said the cambelt needs changing?
OP will come back, say the car is fine etc, they did a brilliant job and we were all wrong, then for whatever reason in a couple of months, it'll have the timing rectified and he'll admit defeat. Standard forum popcorn time.
Re: dmallett's titanium ph1
What does it do exactly when not starting?
I'd suspect its to do with your battery relocation, or the battery rather than the starter if it works fine after its been running for a little while.
This, Sounds exactly the same as what I had on mine after lowering it further and adding some camber.
I'm looking to get a my spare driveshaft shortend to stop this happening.
Can dull some of it, sound deadening in the doors, rear 1/4 panel, under carpet and behind dash, but all in all, it'll cost loads and add lots of weight to an already slow car.
May be worth while doing the doors and 1/4 panels though, I think I spent about £20 on doing those and its better.
There might be a better place on a clio that I don't know, but a sandwich plate like this, with the right thread if possible (find out what thread your sensor is, or you can get loads of adaptors)
You may find you can tee it into the oil feed for your turbo though.
I wouldn't say its hard, but then I don't view anything has hard, Its all bolts at the end of the day. You have to use sport shocks, Depending on what the hubs are from (cup vs non cup really). Its hassle sourcing it all, Luckily I got the whole lot from one guy, then it was just getting new...
Its not just that, but yeah, cars now been keyed both sides, Plus other paint inperfections etc, It now needs a full respray. So thats the plan for next year, most likely.
No dephaser on a non sport.
Parts comes to about £150 if changing the water pump and aux belt at the same time (always a good idea), Plus a couple of hours labour fitting, Three hours max.
Haven't updated in ages, few things have happened....
Roughly in order...
Firstly, Fitted undertay, Non-sports never have them, which I always thought was s**t.
Had a slight issue with charging, so new alternator, and new terminal (heavily corroded), Along with new aux belt kit...
