I Viewed a 182 tonight-
Had the cambelt & Aux belts kit done 4k ago in Feb 13...
Dephaser is rattling away- Belts were done by a specialist on here.
I would have thought on inspection that it would have been identified whether it needed changing or not- seems pretty crap to pay the thick end...
LY is a demand, however you cant just slap 4k / 4.5k on it & expect it just to sell
once your over 80k the price drops off rapidly
Also any scratches to bumpers thats another 2/300 off -
plus you still need good service history -
its only a 4k car private if its mint.
S
Not feeling the love- especially for a sapphire cosworth-
If it was an Escort, or the sierra with the whale tail then maybe...
just looks like a crusty old cab car.
it wont have belts or at least will be due belts. No matter how nice it looks-
£150 wheel, + wheel Refurb, + belts + tyres + suspension refresh = 4k. :(
So, it needs-
Cambelt + Service- £1300 ish- or £1500 with Clutch.
Steering Wheel £200 fitted ( Snappy )
New mats.- current ones are shocking. £50
£1750-
so that's North of 18k on a 04 plate 40k V6.
if that sells I will be amazed at that price. but stranger things have happened.
It does effect price, more so in enthusiasts eyes than it does joe public-
Local garages will use Non OEM parts, & more often than not change the cambelt & the aux belt only. There will be no inspection of the water pump or dephaser pulley & they probably wont use the correct tools.
Just...
Its debs other halves car Col.
