Haha ;)
Yeah I recon and a few people who have worked on the car guess at 70ish I think nearer 80 because I can account for 20ish kg's where mine is heavier elsewhere.
Yeah it's been on three sets! I will weigh the shell before it leaves the garage after rebuild :)
Not sure yet Mark need to see if I can race at Spa :)
Ohhh....
Don't know Stu but my car is 100kg's more than similar racing clios and the only big difference is the cage :)
Matt said yours was T45 so that makes it lighter plus your tubes looked a smaller diameter. If not then god know where my shell is so much heavier than everyone else ;)
Its the bar that's the other side of the chassis rail, seems common place to remove it and it was a heavy bugger! :)

Yes I am but not until the car has been completed and I have given it a proper shakedown. I want to see where it's at from the changes made over winter before changing anything else :)
I don't run the car very low currently and still suffer from fairly bad bump steer so would hate to think how...
Ohh I see what a pain!
Well i've kept the std rack just looped it and fitted the Clio DCI rack with the electric control box which gives variable assistance. Heights of the rack is the same I will space the arms down when I set the car up probably. Column is only spaced down 15mm so angles...
Sounds good Mark well I will be doing Donington and Oulton definitely so will be good to see you then!
Haha yes it's bad enough planning it just for myself and a couple of adults never mind kids!
Thanks Kenny
Secret :rasp: (only until I get the car back ;))
Thanks Mark :)
Not sure yet, probably not as wanting to do Spa but need to sort out my licence first as need a National A to race at Spa. What races are you planning to do?
Welding finally finished so just needs a panel wipe and masking in the morning and then it will be all sprayed so fingers crossed totally finished by tomorrow night!
Took longer than planned to do the gear mount plate but I think it was worth it and it's much lighter than what was fitted...
I wish I could do Llandow :( Windscreen still needs to be replaced lol!
Passengers....... Not sure where they are going this year ;) lots of stuff going on the passenger footwell to keep weight on the LHS and nice and low so passengers feet will be on the dash lol
Have winter tyres on my RWD daily and everyone takes the piss saying crap car in the snow etc but I towed friends that were stuck the other week, drove straight past many stranded cars etc. It transforms the grip in the sub 7 degree's temps and ensures the car remains steering and braking in...
In all honesty I was the one ultimately spec'd the cage with the bars it currently has so is unfair to blame TDF for that. However I was told that the total cage weight was 44kg's which is why I was happy with it being as extensive as it is. Unfortunately I can't see anyway that all that cage is...
Great stuff Pete :) Hope the car goes well on the trackday! Wish Snett was closer would have been good to come and watch the race!
Sorry if i'm stating the obvious lol, but you realise that ebay link is just for one disc so for a pair is £44 which is more than a normal set isn't it?
Yes guys the cage is a bit over the top on weight and does weigh more than I expected but too much work to f**k about with for now! Maybe next winter ;)
Yes Kenny can get into it okay to weld it's just a pain to get in and clean the paint off before welding.
LHS, RHS of the dash bar where it...
Yes it's not a good way to sell them, from my research there is only one material that should be used for the ball joint pin which is why I am keen to know what they are made from if the material I have been told to use then thats a good start :)
Didn't get the welding done on Saturday as I had to help out with something else but cracked on with it today so most is done such as the new seat rails. The modification to the gearlinkage tunnel threw up a stumbling block when we cut the old tunnel top out as it's double skinned on the most...
I asked Hal when I collected mine and he showed me the marks which you drill out to swap the hinges over, then you cut out the little embossed square on the other side to get access to the nut and job done :) I should be doing mine early next week when I get the shell back so if you are still...
Fair enough mate :)
Haha yes been doing that today and carrying on doing the missed little bits lol
Yeah exactly anything will be an improvement over how it was, had to get the grinder on some bits as there was so much crap under the paint. It's not the colour that I was told it had been...

Thats the part at ECP but they are showing out of stock at Sheffield and Rotherham! Hope you get sorted mate
The...
Thanks mate all will be revealed soon ;)
I used two of the non locking ones of those castors (same spec anyway) mine broke really quickly, Nylon wheels seem better as they have less grip. Having four will probably help though :)
lol
Thanks mate :)
Spent 12 solid hours flatting all the...
