Are expensive waxes a waste of money?

@MLB apologies sir. I should have clarified, compete in durability & hydrophobic properties. The most durable wax I’ve used was back when I was using waxes and that was Coli 915. It always looked superb but even that couldn’t get close to something as basic as Sonax BSD for beading/durability...

Are expensive waxes a waste of money?

Not used a conventional wax in years. Since moving over to ceramic based sealants, I don’t think waxes can really compete. Not saying they don’t look lovely because some really do. But I’m more than happy with the finish and protection offered by a sealant and it takes a fraction of the time to...

    Coilover gaiters

They won’t fit a damper with a spring perch like the OEM struts. They’re designed for 2.25” coilovers.

    Mondial 172 Cup Project

Also not surprised. It was a lovely car and you did a great job on those last few items to make it 100%. Now then... about this inferno 😁

    Wheel Brush for TD's

Wheel Woolies medium & small. Far and away the best brushes I’ve ever used. Mine get used twice a week every week and still as good as new 2 years on. Composite handles so won’t scratch your rims either. https://www.slimsdetailing.co.uk/wheel-woolies-red-black-b-kit.html...

    The Petrol Blue Project continued

I’ve not hidden that I’m no fan of petrol blue, but that does look superb in the sun. Well done. 😎👌🏼

Midlife crisis + understanding wife = New Toy

The one I recently drove was lovely with some nice bits including a 250 map, Nitrons, Larini exhaust etc. Went well and sounded superb. The exhaust alone was worth it. But I still find the steering too light, the balance difficult to really commit to, and the build quality tough to swallow at...

Midlife crisis + understanding wife = New Toy

But you will have longer enjoyment of the car so treat it as buying more time with it. I guess it’s 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. I love Lotus cars, always have done. But having recently driven another supercharged S2, I still wouldn’t part with my Clio for one at £25k. But you gotta...

Arguably you can command more for it having had the belts freshly done though.

    Stefans 182 trophy #43

Pleased with the quality? Could be used as a basis for a new system for me. I still have the OEM cat at the mo.

    The £295k Impreza....

I remember when literally every 22B on the planet was £25k 😂 Nothing special to drive either. £300k... bargain, put me down for 2 😁

    engine building

Yep. But more impressive ones in an engine cell. Some of which were: A V8 TD throw 2 rods and carry on running on the other 6. Most impressive gasoline failure was an I4 which let go at full rpm and ended up with 14 separate puncture holes in the block. Another favourite was an I3 which failed...

    engine building

My cells don’t as theyre ambient and I do mostly emissions, soot load and oil dilution. We have 3 full climatic wind tunnels that do similar to what you’re asking, but I couldn’t run one of those. Would bore me even more than what I do. They’re one vehicle, one test. I’m running 8 vehicles all...

    engine building

The dyno is set with road load data for the specific vehicle and the robots will then drive the vehicle according to whatever drive cycle we wish. The headwind fan matches the road speed and the coast down times and loads are set to match. Means we can simulate 1000s of km through city cycles or...

Petrol blue for sale on Facebook (if anyone is looking for one) NOT Mine

Looks a bit of a snotter to be honest. Any other colour and this wouldn’t even be a discussion. I know loads get a boner over petrol blue, but I must be the only one who doesn’t see the attraction. Each to their own I guess. 🤷🏽‍♂️🙂

Boot-lock not working off the remote (182)

When mine went a few years back I bought a replacement actuator motor from ebay and it’s been perfect ever since.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Haha. Thanks guys, very humbling to hear. I do very much appreciate the kind words and comments. As said before, it’s no show queen and she’s “just a daily”. But I love it, I’ve still got lots I want to do with it and can’t see me parting company with it for a long time.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I agree on the Fabspeed stuff, although I didn’t purchase them, I have to say their customer service has been outstanding. The titanium Remus however is lovely.
