You can also get a bit more noise for free from a standard car by unplugging the cold air feed slightly from the airbox (thus getting a mix of warm, turbulent noisy air and nice cold air), so you may as well try this before spending money. Hopefully another GT/mk3 owner can offer an opinion of...
You forgot to mention the Monorail!!!!11!!!one!!!111
If you like cars Beaulieu is always a good day out. The visitor car park always has a fair bit of interesting stuff in there (especially if you go on a dedicated day) let alone the museum!
Favourite thing I've ever seen there was definitely...
EFA :p
Still, at least those who mentally connect Gordini and blue Renaults usually aren't the same type of owner who thinks a map and exhaust is pushing 200 BHP and that it's "propa qwik m8 it dun 6 minutes round da nurburgring."
1) Put car on a RR
2) Offer to pay triple the asking price for the remap if it makes an extra 17BHP or nothing if it makes less than half that
3) Post results here, having just paid nothing?
Yellow stitching & RS insert looks very professional. Steering wheel refurb looks top notch too! Local company or forum member (who's username currently escapes me)?
Dial surround looks like it came from the Early Learning Centre ;) Maybe it'd be ok on a LY car.
Thanks for sharing something a...
TBH I think it's just the way you described it that sounded odd to me. Certainly no beep as standard, but if the beep/gearshift light corresponds with each other then it's probably just a garage-built modification by someone with a little bit of basic electronics knowledge.
TBF my 182 left my possesion nearly a year ago now so I may have got the colour wrong, will double check. 1 min.
EDIT: Sorry you are right. Definitely the one in this pic then?
LOL. Amusing but truthful way of putting it. Presumably if you try and accelerate, you look stupid. If anyone spots the drum brakes, you look stupid. If you try to convince people it's the real thing, you look stupid.
Mmm something doesn't add up, no?
The 172 cup has a shift light, but not a shift beep (that was the 197 onwards IIRC) as far as I was aware?!?! The shift light is a yellow lorry-looking gearstick at the bottom right of the dash should. It should also never come on anywhere massively below ~6800...
LOL at being semi-flamed.
Everything I said was entirely correct for AVERAGE springs (30/40mm max - for which it is widely known that it's acceptable to have a drop of about 30mm or so without having any major issues r.e. the standard shock) vs AVERAGE (cheap: rokkor, ktec, etc) coilovers...
Personally I'm a bit more skeptical than others so far. Exhaust temps are in the region of 600 degrees C, it's just a case of how hot does an actual exhaust tip get? (besides "hot") Still, potential excuse for you to make another spreadsheet :p selotape a pound shop thermometer to it, video it...
1) Buy springs (£70 to 130 odd) and either pay a garage (£50?) to fit them or do it yourself (tools required: jack, axle stands, spring compressor, socket set)
2) Buy coilovers (£200 - £1000 odd) and either pay a garage or fit them yourself (tools required: same as above but don't need a spring...
I think you could have exaggerated the theme a bit more in order to take the viewer through a story/journey a bit more rather than just a video of some cars driving. Was the theme supposed to be change/movement/a-journey (A to B, day to night, one car to lots of cars etc)?
HOWEVER given the...
Another reason to use a sprung bolt is to account for thermal expansion, which is probably quite an issue on a cheaply made car.
On the "nut undoing" front - resonance seems to happen at about 2,500 to 3,000 RPM (slap bang in the middle of normal driving conditions!)
Whilst not anywhere near 3.6k, I do sympathise. However it's expensive for everyone and people seem to forget driving is not one of your human rights.
The amount some of my friends wasted insuring modified cars 1.2s etc whilst I sat their patiently saving my money was incredible. However after...
To add to the above the pe2 was OE on the ph2 mk2 RS versions.
Generic small hatch forum-recommendations are:
Hankook v12 Evo
Uniroyal rainsport 2
Parada spec 2 seem popular on here as a summer only tyre if you want something with a bit more bite (general consensus is great dry grip...
Nice one r.e. the window, not heard of many window problems on here so glad at least one problem has a quick fix!
Also very glad you've stuck around, the amount of useful info on here is definitely worth it!
Got any plans for the car? Keep it oem? Fast road? Coilovers (excellent...
Swapping wheels & springs over probably isn't the easiest thing to do when your car is being dragged onto the back of a recovery truck, the police are asking what happened and whoever you've hit/has hit you, is angry. Just saying.
We pay so much money for car insurance as it is, you may as well...
Ah, and you were being such a good listener in your other thread :p I really do not understand which part of "72k miles or 5 years whichever is sooner" people can't grasp. The last bit is often printed in capital letters FFS lol. As well as expiring due to useage, rubber drive belts and sealed...
You're looking for a "reclining bucket seat" (as opposed to a "fixed bucket" seat). Do read the product info though as there are a couple that adjust but DO NOT fold to allow rear passengers. Seriously there's loads of em, just have a look on Sparco, Cobra, Recaro, Corbuea etc website. Huge...
People on here always seem to forget/ignore the north/south divide (it DOES make a significant difference) and private/independant sale when quoting how much they paid.
OP is in London, which is hardly going to be the cheapest part of the UK...
It really isn't uncommon for good 182s at an...
Loads of threads on what to look for. I'm not even going to tell you to search, because you could probably just scroll down the main "discussion" forum and find 5 :p The most important bit of advice though IMO: spend proper money on a good example and it'll be a fantastic car you'll love. Buy a...
