As mentioned Tom @ West's Renault does a good discount for CS members and can also post items if you're noway near him (no idea where West's Renault are tbh). http://www.cliosport.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?143-Wests-Renault
Cliospares (AKA Renparts) are the "go to" guys on this forum for...
I thought they were £50~ from Renault. They seem to go for £30 ish second hand.
Try Tom @ West's Renault on here, excellent prices on new Renault bits! You can find him in the "traders" section.
Standard map & ECU should:
rev to 6750 when engine is "cold" (as defined by oil temp which you don't have a gauge for, not water/coolant temp which is what's on your dash)
7200 in gears 1 & 2 when engine is sufficiently "warm"
7000 in gears 3, 4 and 5 when engine is sufficiently "warm"
IIRC.
Comparison sites take commision. Sometimes a LOT.
Yes, they're useful for gauging who is cheap and who isn't, but try going direct with the cheaper companies.
If it's for performance, then looks don't matter.
If it's for looks, then lets be honest 1.5 degrees (standard CS.net "fast road" recommendation for a 182/172 at least) really isn't going to get noticed.
If you're going mega camber for the whole "my car is hard to steer, gets through tyres...
Have to wait for a moderator. Probably won't get many replies unless it's in the aptly named Insurance forum.
For a start, go on their website and get a quote as if you're a new customer. It seems some insurance companies are simply trying it on big time (this was on Watchdog a while back)...
Where have you taken it? A Renault garage? An independant Renault specialist? A random garage but the guy there has been "doing Porches for 35 years so knows what he's on about for a Clio?"
Corrosion, tyres, CV boot & exhaust is nothing to do with mileage (considering the car is 7 years old)...
Re: Why do ClioSport owners get hungry
Two or three forum members re-trim steering wheels in their spare time/as a business and the results look brilliant (not to mention an exchange service, along with you get to choose from a million colours etc).
Can't for the life of me remember the...
I really like the impression of speed the shots give the GP circuit. Was really hoping you'd have some pictures from the final laps though!
...because, for anyone unaware, 2 hours of racing, a driver change and 2 safety cars all came down to this:
Well it's just the "typical" garage whacking an impact gun on as they can't be bothered to look up the correct torque (which is different depending on the car etc) so a generic "do it up f****** tight with a power tool" ethos is used.
I hear the Shell garage in Fryern Arcade has reopened... (there might be one on the way to your uni, I don't know, just facebook was covered in "Thank God I don't have to go all the way to Portsmouth etc for V Power now" type comments the other day)
I can't describe how much I don't get this sort of thing.
1) Stretched tyres + 80s/90s Le Man racer style wheels + ever so slightly negative arch gap + appropriate depth spacer & camber = I R CAN DO STANCE
2) http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005O6JAZQ/?tag=cliospnet01-21
3) Natural bumps...
Ha, your situation sounds like a carbon copy of mine. Fortunately I had one last proper look/feel around the exhaust (with engine being rev'd feeling for exhaust gases) before spending £400 upwards on an exhaust & it turned out to be one simple washer had corroded and let a bolt slip, causing...
Bearing in mind that Renault (and many others) call a 1149cc engine a 1.2L, you'd only have to bore it out to 2.049L to possibly get away with calling it a 2.1L. Boring out an extra 51cc to make it 2049cc, assuming stroke stays the same, only corresponds to shaving about half a millimeter off...
Just to clarify you do NOT need to order that harness. It will come in the box.
+1 recommendation for getting the proper audio removal keys. £6 from Halfords or £2 on Amazon lol. You'll get told "nah mate you don't want them just use a coat hanger or screw driver innit" but the proper tool is...
Hi,
In my personal experience the (rear) heatshield definitely did not rattle at a certain frequency - only when I went over bumps and shut the boot etc. The rattle that definitely did have a resonant frequency (around 3000 to 3500 RPM - drove me nuts for a week till I found it!) was a loose...
The headunit should (WILL) come with something looking like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pioneer-ISO-Wiring-Harness-connector-adaptor-16-PIN-/260486967797 it's a Pioneer to ISO harness and is needed simply because HU manufacturers like to make up their own connectors to suit their design...
Don't really buy the doing it for crash protection (random handling protection, yes) argument - carbon fibre would likely be just as bad as ABS. Infact the ridiculed foam idea would be the best for crash protection since it's naturally ductile so far from shattering it'd stay attached to the...
It's (the episode) is old enough for it to be a decent review though which is nice.
Not like the 200 being inferior to the DS3 & Abarth because James May is slower around Monaco, you can't fit 18 people in it and because James May couldn't swap a CD for some petrol (or whatever)...
This isn't going to end well, Cliosport is quite a "proper" owners club. You don't fiddle your income tax or claim benefits just because you think it's unfair that you can't afford to own something. I understand the cams/map can't be seen, but no doubt the paint/sport bodykit/suspension/spoiler...
I refrain from sharing this experience with CS any longer. An independant car dealer had this to say during a test drive (182 cup). There are literally too many to name, but the highlights include:
Buyer: "is there any difference between the 182 and 182 cup engines?"
Him: "Completely different...
