All of its value is in its mileage so its never going to be driven by any owner ever at that money.
I'm afraid all i see is a basic Cup which all be it very nice, has just been smothered in polish and bullshit shine which will wash off after a week.
Polishing a car and dusting the calipers...
Ouch, that was a pretty impressive "off".
Good job youre okay and im sure youll fix the car to fight another day.
The love and war of motorsport eh. :(
Looking good Neil.
How do you find the dogbone bushes? 100% your vibrations you have left I suspect are from the VTs.
Decals really finish the wheels :)
Interesting, i daily drove on NS2Rs for 3 or 4 sets when i first had my Clio and was amazed at the level of wet weather performance from them.
Almost spooky how much grip they had as opposed to what i would have otherwise perceived a so called track tyre to have.
Superb tyres for the money in...
Shame to see the old one go mate. But as said, at least you’re okay and the cars best bits will live on in the new 182.
Looks fantastic in silver with the Turinis on, wishing you well with it. 👍🏼
You must be in a minority mate to want to run one in a daily. Speaks volumes as to how good they are.
I’m about to try one soon, hopefully a big big improvement and with a bit of luck, hope to get one quiet.
Beautifully documented as always chap.
Have to say I love my AC in the Clio, it’s ice cold and I’ll need it more now anyway. Especially as the polar ice caps are melting away by the second and Extinction Rebellion are causing us all to sit in more traffic 😅
Personally I’m going for Whiteline over Powerflex as I’ve heard reports of the Powerflex ones being loose in the carrier brackets.
Having said that, plenty of CS members have the Powerflex items and seem to like them.
Other that or go new OEM
When mine had a new Valeo I found quite a bit of judder on take up. Took a good 1000 miles to bed in too. Odd as the RMS was done at the same time and the flywheel face was flat & true.
I’d say that’s deffo due to the release bearing. The new item appears thicker in profile which is why the pedal would be higher at the bite point. The pedal needs to move a greater distance before the bite point is achieved.
Assuming a non genuine release bearing?
Well it’s just a list of bits at the mo dude. Some have arrived, some still on order lol.
I think the hardest part of doing it is knowing when to stop and not going too far. 😅🤦🏽♂️
So I’ve buckled and have started buying bits to modify the Clio. Yep I said I was going to keep it 100% stock, but you know how these things go, the itch to hone my perfect spec road car is getting too much.
So once I get time to get the parts are fitted I’ll have the following...
Seen examples of powerflex being sloppy in the beam carrier brackets and allowing the beam to move.
Not seen anything from Superpro.
Whiteline are the only other non spherical Bush I can find.
All,
Anyone have any experience with these?
I want to refresh my rear bushes and seen nothing but poor quality and fit from the Powerflex ones.
Do I go Whiteline or just fit some genuine OEM items?
My 182 is my daily with now 117k miles on and it’s still pretty damm mint to be fair. Doesn’t have a single dent or blemish on it apart from the odd stone chip up front.
Due to its miles, it will never be an appreciating asset, however it’s value to me is more about what it means to me.
Sub...
Certainly in the case of the Escort Cosworth. The Sierra drives so much better imo, the chassis didn’t work as well in the shortened Escort body.
That said, almost Impreza would run rings around most Cosworths on anything but the straight bits.
You’re right, though that the Cossie was a...
They drive like any other standard Impreza which is as you say, a bit guff. Not that quick, torrential understeer, bags of grip like they all have but otherwise pretty willy handling, and nowhere near as special as it’s looks suggest.
It’s in the same bracket as an escort cossie to me.
Mega to...
22B, probably the most overated Impreza of all time. Rather have a Spec C of any flavour over a 22B.
In answer to the previous questions the 22B used flared arches that emulated that of the WRC car, however they're vastly different both in width and arch line. The WRC arches offer far greater...
