How to make a forced air induction kit for £1.50

Even before everyone started taking the piss that is everyone's point. It's not effective, the reasons having already been stated. Having said that, good on you for trying something. If you had fun, good on you. If it sounds great, good on you! Maybe people who already have an IK, thus already...

How to make a forced air induction kit for £1.50

    Aydon's Clio 182 *New Member*

Might be a silly suggestion, we'll see, but... Why not buy the right pads pads (as opposed to any old thing because it's a certain colour) then spray just the outside (OBVIOUSLY) yellow with some high temp paint? If the high temp paint is good for callipers and engine blocks then surely it can...

    Laptop Dilema

Yes you can get discounts, but only for upgrade packages (e.g. vista to 7) and not the original retail/OEM full install. Also going from 32bit to 64bit (and vica versa) requires a fresh install and not a "in place of the original" update. I've never done an upgrade but the fact that some...

Insurance thread for young 1*2 owners

Breamy, what does that cover? Is that TPFT + trackdays or do HIC offer "proper" FC road insurance now? 19, 2 yrs NCB. Postcode, mileage etc all in my favour: £1460 planned renewal, 20, 3 yrs NCB. Same ^^^: £1154 actual renewal having written it off, 0 yrs NCB. Same ^^^: £1884 Bell. Cup packs...

    Vtec at Croft

In the second video, what's the red thing (bags of power, no handling) that ends up in the gravel? Watching "part 1" of the second video was entertaining.

    Vtec at Croft

FLOL at the second video, a brilliant little ending to a "power vs handling" match - the countdown music was ace! Love the shake of the head at 3:50 too. I find on-board "amatuer" racing really interesting, makes you appreciate the perfect lap after lap driving you see in BTCC etc a lot more.

    warning to Priviledge insurance customers

Bell/Admiral/Elephant always seem the cheapest and appear to cater for small mods (suspension/wheels/spoiler increased my premium by between 5 and 10%) but their policy wording is very very dodgy (none of their call center staff really knew what to do either in my case) so have a good think...

    What Clio do i want...

Where abouts are you? On the south coast for 3,500 you'd have to settle for 75k miles and maybe the odd dent or scratch but as you go further north you'll be able to afford increasingly well kept examples. TBH you're spot on r.e. the difference between 172 and 172 cup, sportier suspension...

    Everyones 1st Car?

A month ago it was my "everything," now it's just another catagory c statistic. Hate how the car will always get a portion of the blame ("ohhhh young driver can't handle a fast car") I'd have made the same wrong decision in a 1.2 or a Veyron. Never figured my second car would be a downgrade from...

South Central: The Shire Horse Pub Maidenhead - Wednesday 7th September - 7:30pm

You can cross me off your PM list if you want a higher ratio of replies! Wrote my 182 off & can't afford increased renewal so won't be making any use of cs area stuff as I'd have hoped - I'd just see all your lovely Clios and have a breakdown :'(

    Metallic Rattle around 3000 RPM

This! It's not exactly hard to poke the exhaust shield and cat-manifold bolts to see if they move. If it's the exhaust shield it will likely rattle if you slam the boot shut, which i assume you would have mentioned. The cat-manifold bolt only becomes noisy when you get to a certain frequency...

The cage will have small metal tabs all over it. You're supposed to bend those tabs outwards to hold the cage in place.

    Best OEM(ish) head unit upgrade

I've got a simple, modern looking, no frills head unit for sale. Comes complete with everything inc. manuals & original box. Fits straight into a 182 with no adaptors or anything. CD, radio & aux-in for ipod etc. Black with red illumination so suits the 182 perfectly. Nice improvement in sound...

    Hi all fellow Clio owners

The bearings are pressed into the disc. So unless you have the means to press a bearing into a disc without damaging either, the vast majority of people just go for the disc inc. bearings already pressed in. To take this idea further, due to the lack of brake bias and therefore heat going into...

Service light and airbag light on!?

A passenger/you have accidentally knocked some of the under-seat wiring? It happens. Needless to say, did any of your servicing touch the seats/steering wheel?

    What colour is my car?

Look on the sticker inside the door, look on the original invoice, give renault your registration plate and be polite or ask someone on here with access to renault?

    Starting a Forum

There's free ones which will do everything for you, but not let you do much. Then there's the "proper" route. You'd be amazed at how simple it is to build a forum with vBulletin, for example, these days. Probably 95% of what you see in the "forum" bit of this site is all down to just setting...

    Car stereo

iPod/iPhone can be a bit of a faff. Three variations: * Plug it into an auxiliary input with a 3.5mm cable. Pros: very easy to find a headunit with an aux in. This is also beautifully simple, plug it in, pick a song on your ipod, press play. * Front/rear USB. Pros: just connect it with a normal...

Clio 182 alarm, three blinks (Ultrasonic?)

Very "durrr" suggestion I know, but were the windows open? Someone walked past my car the other day when the ultrasonic sensors were pointing out the window and that triggered the alarm. I'm assuming it's just an electromagnetic wave (in the "ultrasonic" region of the spectrum you'd guess...)...

Lets sort this all out...today...once and for all..

Welcome, hopefully this thread won't have any of the member in it who make the club look bad :L As covered rolling roads will read whatever they're calibrated to read. As a forum/club we are very aware of the optimistic claims and BS that remap adverts promise and the big range in RR results...

    Rattling noise at certain revs?

If it's the rear of the car, my rattles have been: 1) Heatshield - very common. 2) Search 2k or "3k rattle" - you'll find that quite a few people have had retaining cups in the cat to manifold assembly disintergrate causing the bolt/spring/nut/assembly to rattle like hell at it's resonant...

Done HU & Components, now what...?

Thanks very much for the reply! (and the patience sifting through my rambling post :p ) It would seem then that amping the components is the way forward (also forgot to mention full boot space is more important than audio to me) 1) If I amp the components will they be able to handle more...
