    Gearbox sounds like a race car............Ph1 172

Just have a go at taking the box out, if it's no good anyway you have nothing to lose.

    Upgraded gear stick ?

The rattle does get annoying when on the motorway but it is worth it on a track car. I spoke to Nick at FCS and he said he has moved the rattle to higher in the rev range by fitting a damper on the linkage, they should be available to buy soon for about £20 iirc

Breaking cover......*AG content from page 45*

Bells would be the best but it would start to get expensive then. Is there much of a difference in performance between the 280 and 300 discs? If not just get some of the brackets for 280 discs. What will you be doing with the MC?

    When to shift, shift light?

Its not needed Once the first light is on you instantly know (providing it is placed in the correct position) and as the first two are different colours to the second two you know you are getting close to the limit then a really bright red LED then if you miss all that it flashes

    When to shift, shift light?

Just replied to your PM Mines the DRE one @NorthloopCup suggested it to me and it's great, I had a faulty unit first, it was not picking a signal up but it was sorted out quickly. I was going to get the Omex one first but it seems a bit more fiddly to fit as the control box is separate from the...

    Which harness

They are about 150mm back from the slots in the seat, the inside one is going through the exhaust tunnel and the outside one is as far out as it can go. Not the best picture but hope it helps

    Which harness

Not technically correct, if the car is striped out cage buckets etc they can be FIA or E marked and pass a MOT. I have 6 point Sabelt harnesses wrapped around the harness bar and I have drilled and fitted eye bolts and spreader plates in the floor for the crotch and lap straps. If the car is a...

    Torque wrenches

They are not the best but good enough for a DIYer. They sell them in screwfix as well for not much more than ebay etc, easier to take back if they pack up as I think they have a lifetime warranty

    Torque wrenches

For 1/2 I just use a cheap one, wheel bolts etc don't need to be perfect but my 1/4 one is a teng. When I replace my 1/2 it will probably be a teng

    New Seats

Look nice, I personally would have gone for some Recaro pole positions (more supportive) but as long as you are happy that's all that matters. I used these covers on the bolts on my cage and sidemounts...

    T4RKO 172 Cup

The feet are not supposed to be like that it is from shipping. Mine came with one foot bent and when I spoke to Mark about it he said just straighten it with a adjustable spanner but it takes the shape of the arch when bolted down anyway so not much of a issue.

Help needed with my 182 track car

Have a look at my build thread its in there with more pictures. The drivers side is routed between the panels and comes out by the rear light and the passenger side is just tidied up by putting the cakes inside some conduit tube

Help needed with my 182 track car

As Cub said PMS. They are a great bit of kit but they do rattle so if the car is used as a daily it may do your head in

    Batteries

I'm tempted with a odyssey 25 for the track car but Merlin recommended the 30 for my car that has air con (but not used) xenons etc but it is £50 more expensive, I may just get the 25 and risk it, the car is either being driven or when its not its on a maintainer anyway so should be fine, I have...

Help needed with my 182 track car

I have gone inbetween, I left the carpet in the front and everything from the seats back has gone, the door cards have been changed to carbon fibre ones but still fitted speakers as it is driven to the track (not the best sound but better than a constant exhaust noise). I am in the process of...

    Sandwich plate torque?

What torque setting should the sandwich plate bolt be tightened to for a oil cooler? I assume you tighten the sandwich plate a bit tighter than the oil filter to stop it undoing the same time as the filter when changing oil?

    Anyone got a SPA gauge?

I did think of that but could not be bothered taking the dash out at the time, I may do it later in the year.

Looking good now, but get a bit of black paint on that linkage arm (or what ever its called lol)

    Anyone got a SPA gauge?

Here you go mate After a lot of head scratching for mounting it (did not like most of the ready made mounts / pods) I made a bracket to keep it as compact and tidy as possible, I just need to make a cover to slide over the top to hide the wires, but TBH I could leave it as it does not look...

    Anyone got a SPA gauge?

Thanks Mark I was speaking with SPA about it and trying various things but it did not get it to work then it just fixed itself, bit of a strange one but all seems good now.

Breaking cover......*AG content from page 45*

Does sound bad when you think that a truck box will have 16 gears, splitters high and low ratios etc (have not got a clue what that lot looks like inside lol) When do you think you will get it running?
