Changing the spark plugs today on my 172, just got the first one out and it was only "finger" tight? Is this how it should be?? Surely not??
Cheers,
Ed
I can't remember the name of the garage, and the reciept is in the car. Don't think it was a specialist though. Can't understand why they wouldn't have changed it for the price of a belt.
I do plan on getting it done, just wondered about price?
I havn't got his number any more. From what the garage said I'm 99% certain they didn't change the aux belt, they said it would be stated on the reciept and it isn't. So think I'll have to get it done.
So just wondered what the going rate was?
Well it had its aux done at 42k (3years) and cambelt done at 69k last year by the previous owner. But on the reciept for the cambelt there's no mention of changing the aux belt, when I rang the garage they said they wouldn't have changed the aux belt if it was "perfect." But can't see how it...
What would a guide price be for a garage to change the aux belt on a 172? Sorry if it's been asked a fair bit b4, did have a quick search through threads.
I just did a quote on priviledge on a 99 1.6 si, pretending to be a 21 yr old student with 0 NCB but with a female named driver and 500 excess and it came to £669 a year. Do you live in Iraq?
Well a new rear bearing for my 172 cost £16 and took me about an hour to change so I can't see how a garage could charge any more than an hours labour.
Have you tried priviledge for your insurance? I got my 172 last August when I was 21 and paid 860 fully comp. 1yr NCB and my mum down as a...
I'd fix it considering the amount you have already spent, you could buy another car to find after a couple of months it too is a money pit. I think you'd struggle to sell the clio with a failing head gasket, well for a respectable amount anyway.
500 quid on a service, mot and cambelt!? That...
Been to Renault today and ordered 2 new deflectors. They are critical as without them it causes an unwanted stress point. Can't belive someone has put my disc's back on and forgot about them. Probably why the bearing was jiggered in the first place.
Are you sure about that? See PDF attached.
That is what I initially thought, but the replacement bearing will not fit without a deflector. The radius on the edge of the bearing that contacts the axle is bigger than the one the original bearing had, this allows the bearing to be pushed onto the...
Had a bit of a problem today. Wanted to replace the rear wheel bearing on my 172 but when I took the disc off I found the deflector on the axle was missing. Where is the best place to get a new one from, is it a part Reno will stock.
Thanks in advance.
