Wow you must have spent some serious money on that! Much respect for investing in something you are obviously passionate about. I was going to go down the road of modifying my 1.2 but then i traded it in for a 1.4 sport instead (dont regret it).
My only dislikes are the bonnet and the headlights.
Lol this thread.
My 2 cents. Clean damp cloth + White spirit. You will see those spots litterally wash away. Be sure to completely clean the area afterwards :)
Ive got the same problem since i swapped from Mk2 Ph1 rear clusters to Mk2 Ph2 rear clusters.
The lights work fine on their own when the headlights are switched on. However whenever i indicate it causes the rear lights to flash in tandum with the indicator.
I havent bothered investigating...
I doubt they are linked tbh, probably just 2 seperate faults that have occured at roughly the same time.
Have you checked the feeds to them to see if there is current passing through the wire?
Damn afroahmed, you got gipped on that one mate!
Before i bought mine off ebay i insisted of seeing shots from behind the headlight unit as well to get a picture of what was included. One of them came with everything including bulbs and the adjuster motor! :)
Hope you get it sorted. Dont...
Replica? It looked bloody good if it was!
It was a black Ph2 Vee. Next to it was a 182 i think, silver? Only caught a glimpse as i was merely looking up the lane of cars to see if anything was pulling out as i crawled past.
Hi all,
My rear window Renault Elf sticker appears to be dry and cracked. You touch it and it flakes off onto the parcel shelf. Texture kinda looks like an elephants arse at the moment :/
Does anyone know where you can get replacement ones? Ive check Ebay and theres a couple of "Elf"...
Ive seen clutch cables on Ebay, they seem legit. Likewise Throttle cables.
And yes its a very noticeable increase in performance between the 1.2 8v and the 1.4 16v. And most importantly no more juddering around 70mph!
I just need to get this clutch fixed so i can pull off without looking...
Its currently in the nearby Nationwide Autocentre. Ive got a feeling they are going to try and get me to pay for a new clutch but we will see. Just awaiting a phonecall.
Thanks for the constructive help edde.
Are those major jobs to put right? Im thinking of dropping it into a local QuickFit and asking them to take a look but at least i have a starting point now.
I personally think the Mk3's all look very samey. Perhaps ive not studied them close enough but i cant really tell the difference between a 197 or a bog standard 1.2.
I think they got it right when they did the Mk2 Ph1 and the Mk2 Ph1 172s. Even none Clio owners could tell a 172 when they saw it.
Hi,
On Sunday i p/x'd my 1.2 Grande for a 1.4 Sport (Mk2 Ph1's).
They are both the same model of car and both similiar engines or at least so i thought.
The 1.4 Sport ive picked up is horrible to drive in comparison. It bites really high and the clutch itself is very stiff, it even makes a...
I already converted my headlights to projectors so thats not a problem for me. Thats good to know that i have another option rather than hunting for a decent Sport!
Hi a quick question about the Mk2 Ph1 Clio Alize's spec.
Im confused. Looking at the Clio Alize they seem to share alot of the specs only available on the Mk2 Ph1 "sports".
- Electric windows
- Passenger airbag
- Foglights
- Updated Dash (centre console)
Does this mean they also have the...
Well currently my little 1.2 8v struggles at anything past 65mph. Which makes overtaking a nightmare.
Dont get me wrong it will go quicker but the engine doesnt sound too healthy when it does!
Right so i will notice a difference from 1.2 8v > 1.4 16v on motorway speeds (which is what the majority of my traveling is anyway).
Alright glad we got there in the end lol.
A 2.0 is always going to be out of the question due to the distance i drive, its just not practical to spend that much on fuel traveling about 16,000 miles a year.
This is why i was thinking about going for a 1.4 16v "Sport" thats sat in a garage about 10miles away for £1900.
But obviously...
Having only ever driven my car i cant really judge what kind of performance increase i would "feel" from the next step up so to speak.
Basically ive got a 1.2 8v and im looking to P/X it in for a 1.4 16v.
Is this really going to make that much of a noticeable impact on performance between...
