I totally agree with fitting LPG, excellent idea IMO. But if you are going to do it, you need good components and a good conversion to do it well. No point in getting a sh1t setup.
Being such a rare setup, He'll have to find a map from a lesser spec, then scale it for his injectors and make sure he doesent come on boost.
Alternatively, the best Idea is just going to be a trailer. He can bleed through everything at a rough idle, which shouldn't be too hard to obtain.
The current megane wheels are just as bad as the gordini. Looks like it's been crashed into halfords
Congrats to deako on his new car+wheels. Can normally rely on a dub guy to spot bad rims, and I see your no exception!
if your doing that many miles, I'd question a clio or twingo at all. Are they motorway miles or have you got a cross-country drive to work (i know i do atm!)
Having driven a few diesels, i can honestly say that they are not worth the MPG savings IMHO. They just don't drive like a car should...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
I think it's a bit rotten as it cannot be proven that the car was on track. Although the signs are there. Just dissapointing really.
The top rad hose is now not the highest point in the system. So if I T that off as an expansion line (to the top of the bottle), I'm almost gauranteed an air lock.
I agree with you on the bottom hose from the expansion tank, it makes no difference to send that into the heater matrix return.
I'm...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
So you reckon the release bearing has just collapsed? bad times :(. Did you replace it with the conversion? It shouldn't be going already surely
what part of the engine? The exhuast gas? The water temperature? the oil temperature? the list goes on.
I wouldn't worry about it dude. If it gets to the halfway on the gauge and then stays there, it's happy days.
I've been meaning to bring this up to date for a few days now, so here goes.
I originally had a golf gear linkage, bought separately for the engine. Turned out to be the wrong cables for my gearbox (02J) not sure why.....but I found this one in a local scrappy off an old B4 passat.
It's old...
hmm. I kind of need to work out whether or not it's possible. I need to get onto ThinkAuto ASAP about it.
I don't really see an issue with it tbh. If theres no replys I think i'll just go with it and plumb the turbo return to the top of the header tank.
right I've got a question about my cooling system.
The on the OEM setup, the header tank is plumbed in like this:
Bottom hose feeds to the water pump intake#
Top hose is Tee'd off the highest point in the system (in this case, the top rad hose).
Im wondering if I can do this:
Bottom header...
You don't mean a 172 DP, you mean a 172 ARB surely??
I don't think you could run the ARB with a standard valver/williams downpipe. The 172 ARB does not kink to allow for the valver/willy exhuast. Having said that, it's been so long since i've seen one, I can't remember how low the standard...
Nope. These are "solid" gear linkages. Not nice tight cable linkages. Play in the gear lever is normal.
Movement of the gear lever when getting on and off the power will indicate poor engine mounts.
Sorry about the lack of pictures. Ill get on that ASAP
Basically the Anti-Roll-Bar Situation:
My new downpipe goes over the top of the subframe dead centrally. It gives a really nice route and clears the rubber gaitors on the O/S inboard CV and the SteeringRack pinch. Clearance between hot...
