i'd either reprofile the pad edge to clear or get the bell machined to clear. looks like the radius is different on them so would probably need a small amount machining off it? pop the pins out of the pad and slide them until they touch the bell and you can at least use the distance the pin...
tester could easily argue that the design is flawed as the pad doesn't cover the full area of the disc, may never happen though.
is it just the pad backing that's touching the bell?
ah, that's the crank pulley, it is grooved but as the belt is on it you can't see them. the smooth pulley is the waterpump pulley, the belt comes off the crank pulley and then goes under this one so is smooth as it's driven by the back of the belt.
running the jr5, totally different box to the jc5 but am sure the dci jc5 boxes all run speedo drive? got info on them, will try and remember to check it out for you later.
i'd pretty much guarantee it's a dci box from the speed in 4th alone. similar to my lads twingo, that does about 140mph in 4th on a megane dci 5 speed box.
