I normally see how the pump feels on them, dead easy to do it on a cup compared to normal one.

Pad covering the whole swept area?

if it's only about 1mm then i'd just do the edge of the pad.

Pad covering the whole swept area?

i'd either reprofile the pad edge to clear or get the bell machined to clear. looks like the radius is different on them so would probably need a small amount machining off it? pop the pins out of the pad and slide them until they touch the bell and you can at least use the distance the pin...

Pad covering the whole swept area?

tester could easily argue that the design is flawed as the pad doesn't cover the full area of the disc, may never happen though. is it just the pad backing that's touching the bell?

    172 cup belt noise

ah, that's the crank pulley, it is grooved but as the belt is on it you can't see them. the smooth pulley is the waterpump pulley, the belt comes off the crank pulley and then goes under this one so is smooth as it's driven by the back of the belt.

Pad covering the whole swept area?

would probably be an mot fail...a braking system component inappropriately repaired or modified.

    172 cup belt noise

are you talking about the waterpump pulley?

    172 cup belt noise

    This thread again, what cams?

they are set to standard timing but you can re time 438 to 421 spec. with standard inlet i'd just stick with the 421 if you want catcams.

    Gearbox for 172 Ph1

i'd pretty much guarantee it's a dci box from the speed in 4th alone. similar to my lads twingo, that does about 140mph in 4th on a megane dci 5 speed box.
