I work in IT, and I am sorry but computer science graduates dont know sh1t. They are fine on theory but when you get down to the real business they are to naive too apply anything they know.
Ask most people in the industry and they dont have much respect for newly qualified graduates. I...
How much do these mounts move when you accelerate and brake? Someone in the other thread said they had a 5mm gap between the rubber blocks and the black surround. Surely the engine doesnt move by so much that the blocks knock against the surround?
If it does move by 5mm then I wonder what...
I dont know anyone with a degree that has started on more than 15k and I am talking about people with 2:1s or better in proper subjects not the usual mickey mouse ones!
If someone applies for a job with us and they have a degree in media studies, sociology or psychology their application goes...
What exactly did they do the engine mount? As Ive said in the other thread I only really have room for 1mm of movement in one direct.
Did you see what exactly they did to yours?
I think we already estabilished that in the 7 miles before you pick up the car (or 100 in my case) it gets an absolute shafting. So you may as well not worry too much. Just let it warm up properly before driving it hard and perhaps only use full power sometimes as opposed to all the time until...
Hmm most students I speak to seem to think that when they graduate with their 2:2 in Sociology (pmsl) there will be hundreds of employers fighting to take them on at £25k a year.
What went wrong with you! Surely you should have £830 in loose change!
Do some over time or work evenings in a...
Yes the one nearest the driver is in complete contact pressed up against the black surround. You can just about see day light between the one nearest the front of the car and the black surround.
Clearly there is more to this than the size of the gap. Maybe the rubber bungs compress over time...
If you just drag race up and down dual carriageways it does get boring pretty quick and you want more power.
Take it out on a twisty country road though and it still feels dangerously quick.
When asked if I had any modifications I said "no its brand new straight from the factory".
The insurance company will have that statement recorded no doubt.
People forget that batteries arent really supposed to last anymore than a few years even though some go on longer. I put a new battery in my last car on its three year service. The battery was still fine but its best to replace it whilst it is still working.
You must have a turbo then yeah cos my mate (with the 170bhp Mk2) went out in another mates old Impreza Turbo (208bhp) and proper shat his pants. The Impreza is in a different league to the NA MR2s.
None Turbo Mk2 MR2 is looking at about 8 to 60 (as tested by magazines) and I certainly cant see it cracking 100 in under 20 seconds.

My 182 would absolutely rape my mates Mk2 MR2.
Anyone else tried adjusting their mount? As I said one of my rubber blocks is touching the black surround and the other has a 1mm gap. Not room for adjustment there? I was gonna cut off a bit of old pushbike innertube and stick that in the gap so its a tight fit?
Nearly everyone has this...
Ive noticed that they are funny when cold (they just dont bite as well) but not so that you have to pump them or it feels like there is slack in the system. They are still perfectly good when cold unless you are flying towards a set of lights at 70 and then braking at the last minute. Normal...
Yeah would love to know what those two are paying on insurance and more to the point who is paying for it!
Keep an eye out for the "crashed my Clio :(" thread in a few weeks time!
"Double d brake"
You mean like pump them? Have you check the fluid levels? Wonder if you have air in the system? Might be worth getting the fluid replaced? This must be cheap and will prove/disprove a fair bit.
Nope, Id go for the MUCH quicker, more reliable and better built WRX.
Who cares if the Nova/Corsa boys dream about them.
Kylie has a huge gay following but does that stop you buying her albums or downloading them on MP3?
Hmmm possibly a pot hole although Ive been through plenty in my time with no ill effects. Id still go for curbing myself.
If it is a pretty big pot hole and you know where it is I would take some photos and get a new wheel and tyre out of the council.
Cant believe the curbing and bulge are not related. The wheel damage aint that bad but of course the tyre could have taken the brunt of it. I reckon that tyre has been into a curb pretty hard, that didnt happen on its own.
What are those marks on the rim? Have you curbed it or something?
I wouldnt drive over 50 or so with the tyre like that tbh!!! That could go bang if you go too fast, especially when putting it under load around a bend at high speed...
Have anyone found a anthracite touch up stick yet? Looks...
When you start getting down to gaps of 1 second you are going beyond the driving ability of most of us. Id probably get beaten by more than 1 second against a really good driver in a 1.6 Dynamique.
Yeah if you read back you will see that I said in a previous post that it wasnt a homologation special.
But I agreed with someone else that it is a homo special!
