Wow just did 80 miles with some hammering in the last 30 but in the last 3 miles I took it nice and steady and when I got back the right hand exhaust was stone cold! If I reached back further to where you get to the thinner bit then it was warm.
Yeah I try to take it out at least once on a weekend and put a good thirty miles on it with some high revs.
During the week the longest journey I do is 9 miles and its all under 3000rpm and most under 2500rpm.
Dont really like revving it hard unless Ive done 10 miles but I figure if I dont I...
Drove about 4 miles today then took my car to the green light in 3rd. Looked in mirror whilst I was doing this and after about 5k rpm I could see loads of condensation (hope it wasnt smoke!!!) pouring up around the rear window. Anyone else noticed this?? Seems like a bizarre aerodynamic effect...
182 = 35mpg
1.2 16v = 50mpg
Dci80 = 70mpg
Thats commuting in Bristol traffic and I am a careful driver. A mate of mine and a neighbour only get 35mpg from their 1.2 16vs although the former is now getting 40mpg after calming down a bit. Tbh I would have to try really hard to get the 1.2...
Go see a racing blue in the flesh. In real life it actually looks closer to the above photo of an arctic blue than it does to the racing blue!
In fact that artic blue photo is perhaps the best photo of a racing blue that I have ever seen!!!!
Racing blue all the way for me.
I repeat again, is the new CTR four seconds a lap quicker than the old CTR?
Old CTR owners will tell you theirs is quicker.
I find my Clio is particularly sensitive to environmental conditions. Some times it flies and sometimes it is really sluggish.
I put 75% of it down to the conditions...
I have noticed that the left hand exhaust on my car gets hotter and is dirtier inside than the right hand exhaust?
As if most of the exhaust gasses is passing through left handside.
Something wrong or no?
They did fix it in favour of the Mini did they not?
The price of the car didnt include AC and no doubt it didnt carry a heavy AC system around the track....
Plus they said it felt quicker than the norm - wonder if BMW ups the boost on test cars?
I remember when Audis were classy cars driven by gentleman drivers that had good taste.
Then the BMW drivers start buying them once the drug dealers and chavs had taken over their cars.....
I always remember that Audi advert where the w*nker yuppie takes it for a test drive but rejects it...
I suppose thats the best bit about driving an image-less car like the Clio.
You simply cant lose.
If you get beaten by a fancy car then it was expected anyway and no one thinks anything of it.
You only have to keep up with a flash motor to win the moral victory.
Must be a nightmare...
I think Corsa owners are more full of sh1t than Punto GT owners and thats saying something.
Its all just pub talk at the end of the day.
"I smoked this car, I smoked that car" etc. Yeah alright boys.
"and the shadows cast by the Porsche and Renaults dazzling Xenons as we crest each and every rise"
See I always said that I couldnt see sod all of a different between standard and Xenon lights and EVO have just proven a point because I am looking at the photo now and they are definitely not...
Everyone has this, a search would bring up so many threads you would never have time to read through them all.
Bottom line is that not one single person other than dave182 has ever had this successfully fixed.
You can talk to 100 different Renault mechanics and they will all give a different...
I change up at 7k anyway as you can feel the power dropping off at that point. I assume that chip does more than just raise the limit because I feel I would be better off changing up than going past 7k.
Just a point of order.
The 172 Cup was hardly a stripped out homologation special.
It still had far too much crap in it. I have no idea where this whole idea of a "Cup" brand name came from.
The 182 carries over the suspension revisions from the 172 Cup but with further improvements and...
I find my Clio is prone to steaming up when its raining, on the side and rear side windows. Its a small car inside so the humidity soon builds up and condenses on the coldest surface - the windows.
The little vents for the side windows are not enough unless the fan is going pretty quick. Could...
Yeah I think it would have pretty much got to 7k or 6900 at least as I am sure it did in 2nd and 3rd. But normally I can go just over 7 before it comes on?
If its £800 to £1000 less than a 182 then yeah I support it. I dont know whether it attracts the same discounts as a normal 182 with Cup packs though. Obviously I paid less for my full fat version with all the Cup packs and met paint than the list price of the Cup. Id be pretty cheesed off if I...
