I ordered through a broker who are in turn getting it from a Renault dealer - who in turn placed a factory order. I will be dead pleased if my June ordered car turns up by 21st Oct as thats around about the time the MOT runs out on the old banger I am borrowing.
I had been waiting 6 weeks by...
Just cancel the stripes.
I ordered blue with stripes but changed it to Titanium.
I regret doing that now not least because they used the colour change as an excuse to add a month on to the delivery date even though they hadnt even started building the car!!!!
I personally would choose...
I dunno its not about embarrassment just because the car with the stripes is unfashionable. Its about them becoming common and chavish. Its like the first person that fitted neon washer jets was well proud and happy with them but I bet they dont like them anymore even though many of the cars...
Yeah I discussed this in another thread.
During those few weeks when the factory was shut they were still taking loads of orders especially from UK customers who like to order cars in July/August ready for the new plate on 1st Sept.
So you have the original 8 week wait plus the extra 3 to 4...
Where did you order it from? I ordered stripes but they said they still couldnt do them at the factory and they also used it as an excuse to delay my order.
I think the racing blue will have lasting appeal but the stripes will lose their novelty.
Not sure where you ordered it from but if its...
WTF!!! Watched the re-run of the 182 episode on UKTV People. The review was exactly the same but the background sound track was completely different to the original broadcast. Mysteriously even the music the stig played whilst driving had changed!! How bizarre!
Yeah I ordered a Silver back in June because no one else seemed to be buying one. Everyone was buying arctic blue, racing blue and black. Now there are dozens of people here with Silvers. Went past my local Renault dealer a few hours ago and they had a Silver outside - must be pre-reg or ex...
Yeah its not just the engine that needs running in.
I read this:

Sounds like b****cks to me, he talks about the roughness required to wear down the rings disappearing after 20 miles but I...
Yeah never admit your speed. Let them measure the tyre marks and work it out. As no one was injured they were hardly going to investigate to the level they would a fatal accident!! Chris would never have got done for speeding unless he had admitted it.
A good example is that case of the guy in...
This will be my strategy too and is what I have done with all my previous new cars.
Definitely wont be going for the "redline before it has done 20 miles" technique!!!
I wonder why we always see threads where people talk about "my car burns 1 litre of oil every 1000 miles"......
You have to ask yourself why there are quite a few 6 month old Cups up on the market....owners not satisifed? Truth is as soon as the 182 was released they couldnt flog their motors fast enough.
You also have to ask whether you want a car that has an almost identical interior to the 1.2...
I am currently at 9 weeks and I think its touch and go as to whether I get it before the MOT runs out on the banger I am currently driving in mid Oct...
You can get a new 182 for £12500 as stated elsewhere. Slap down £2500 and get a 10k loan (unless you have more than 2500 saved up already)...
The factory does shut down for the summer Holiday and you unfortunately ordered at the wrong time of year. I should imagine that production will be back in full flow and Renault dealers will be able to meet there schedule of 6- 8 weeks delivery times again..
I dont see how they can do that...
With a black car you have to wash and wax/polish it every week otherwise it looks dump. I cant emphise that enough, if I didnt polish it everytime I washed the car it just looked grey/brown/dusty/smeared. Hard to explain really, on top of that if you get a faint scratch on the clear top coat it...
Yeah 6 to 8 weeks is their standard reply and means absolutely nothing. I was given the same figure despite the factory shutting down during that period!!! They are talking b****cks basically.
Its already been 8/9 weeks for me and will be at least 12 before I get the car. Given what DazW said...
What should you do??? Just stop messing around and place an order, unless you get an import, ex demo/pre reg or are lucky enough to find a cancelled order you will get the car just before Xmas if you order NOW and after Xmas if you sit around for a week or two!
My advice is going for Racing...
You cant beat the feel of a decent sized saloon. Cant put my finger on it but a Cav or similar feels better to drive than any supermini no matter how good. Not saying it handles better or is faster, just has a certain more grown up feel. Doesnt dart all over the road when its windy, the road is...
"Toypop, youve never met me, if you had youd probebly realise why any VX220/Elise/Exige type thing is wwwwaaayyyyyy out of the question, I AM A FAT KNACKER!!!!!"
Ah well that changes everything, all you have to do is shave your head and hey presto you look like a Subaru driver!
Impreza it...
The rear seats are designed and tested to take a certain amount of weight in that type of collision. Not sure how much though.
Apparently it helps if you keep the seat belts on the back seats fastened when no one is sat there. If someone is sat in the back at the time then bad luck!!!
Id...
I said this in another thread but here goes again.
If you get puncture and change the wheel a number of things happen (bear in mind its always pissing down with rain when you get a flat):
1, your nice sparkling unused spare wheel gets all filthy.
2, your nice expensive clothes get filthy...
