Thread from the dead  also curious if anyone has bumped anything older now lol
I've been searching like fcuk but can't seem to find the info I'm after :dapprove: but does anyone know if the 1.8 works rally cars were using the standard inlet or ITB's?
Need some help from you professional folks on here as you've probably come across this issue I've got
Currently ripping a dead engine out of a mates T reg 1.8 mondeo, I'm a bit stuck with a couple of things that I want to remove but want to make sure I know how it's done before I go mental on...
Look in the latest evo, buyers guide for 182, in the blurb about the trophy they say that the guy who developed the trophy kept a 205 gti in the garage & based everything he did for the trophy trying to emulate the essence of the pug ;)
oh you mean a tappety noise, then that could be a sticky lifter & low on oil
where is the noise exactly? if it's the top of the engine u should be ok, if it's the bottom part of the engines it could well be fooked
I'm just curious to know how much peoples insurance policy's went up by (if at all) after they fitted ITB's to their clio's.
I'd like to get a rough idea as I wont be renewing my policy until my car is ready and I can afford it
R's have been done to death & they bore me now plus you've got to be a good driver to really make any pointful use of what makes the R better than a P and the vast majority of folk simply aren't good enough. People generally remove old & tired P's & replace them with old & tired R's and since...
Oh hai!! :D
It's nice to see another naples getting some tlc  If you need some inspiration have a look at my project thread http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?487611-Paddy-s-Valver-Project-Leave-it-the-F*ck-Alone&highlight=project ;)
Do it online, you only need the reference number on the log book to tax it
Then you get 5 working days grace for it to arrive & if you're really bothered about not having it displayed & getting pulled, print off the receipt you're sent & show that as proof you've taxed it ;)
I think that plastic bit needs to stay there, think it's for getting reverse, will be the case if it's a valver but not sure about the lower models
Take a photo of it & post it up ;)
Pointless goin F4R tbh, watched Beanie's car make the same power, 2 point something bhp less, than cliolords car at surrey rolling road a few weeks ago, both similar spec, forged high comp bottom ends, silly cams and ITB's. An F4 in a williams is just plain wrong to begin with anyway, plus...
From what I've heard of other peoples experience of breaking them you're looking at getting about £1,000 - 1,500 from breaking it, but you'd obviously have to factor in the time & effort required to 1st strip it, then secondly to sell everything.
By the sound of it, it would be a great shame to...
I see you're local, what stretch of road are you referring to? I'm always partial to a bit of local exploration to find a decent road to have some meaningful fun on ;)
Sod spending that much & still be on the standard inlet  I know of those guys & they are good but all you need is a williams or valver wiring loom & a williams ecu, fit it all yourself then get the ecu mapped to suit all the mods for a fraction of the cost
