Paddy's Valver - Project Leave it the F*ck Alone

Project title fail! :o Well overdue an update Now since all those fun & games, I added a few more goodies in preparation for my 1st ever track day at Castle Combe  I fitted some bucket seats, 3 point harnesses, 13 row oil cooler & some used R888's Now the latest with the...

Courtesy cars make you appreciate your own car.

Courtesy cars turn me into a hooligan :dapprove: they get abused as I use them to vent my frustration at not having & being able to drive my car

    when can i thrash it?

Ragging it from cold will increase the wear on the engine as the oil isn't able to do it's job properly until it gets to a certain temperature. I don't rag mine until I can see that the oil has got into it's optimum temperature range, oil gauges as standard on a Mk1 ftw ;)

    want to buy a valver!

Plenty about for sale, where are you from & what's your budget? Might be a better idea to look on www.clio16valver.co.uk for more relevant info & what's for sale than on here ;)

I think it's in the same place as the megane jc5's, on the underside just to the right of the 5th gear cap thing ;)

lower it gets... the longer it last

Clio fuel gauges are just c**k teasing c-units  I can get just over 300 miles to a full tank, but I'll do about 120 miles & the gauge says I've only used 1/4 of a tank

You've got that quote a bit out of context there m8  also didn't take any note of my reply to that comment either  How anyone can call a valver tame is beyond me

    French VS JAP

Good luck with the sale then mate, although it's probably a good idea to put a thread up in the for sale section ;)

    French VS JAP

It's a marketing thing, the valvers were built at the RS factory in dieppe so they are RS clios, just don't need to advertise it with a badge ;) The voice in my head that wants to go faster is saying get the hell away from pokey french hatches & go for some volvo powered lunacy
  13. 16v_paddy

    French VS JAP

No, a mk1 1995 1.8 16v clio to be precise ;) Don't get me wrong, they're good cars, I like them but would I actually pay, with real money I've worked for to buy 1? Not a chance, not worth the extra money in my humble opinion

    French VS JAP

Much more fun though ;) I still prefer it over a trophy and I ragged the arse off that car, was quite underwhelmed But if we're talking about french v jap I'd take my old corolla gt over the lot, I miss that car sooo much :(

    French VS JAP

Sounds like it's a decent example but I'd prefer to stick with my trusty mk1

    French VS JAP

Only solution is to get rid of the car & walk, cars break, they're all s**t but brilliant at the same time

    Heel Toeing in a 182?

I struggled to do it smoothly in the trophy I had a go in, maybe with a bit more practice I could improve but I seriously doubt I'd be able to do it as well as I can in the valver ETA: I find it almost impossible to do in in beemers as well lol
  18. 16v_paddy

It'll be all white on the night

I was going to say they look s**t, but it's amazing how a decent photo works wonders, they look very smart

Soooo, 20 years of the Clio....

I mostly like them, much prefer the mk1's though, so much more character & the fact they're really cheap to buy & look after makes them much more appealing to keep & have fun with
