core plugs go on the gearbox side as chip said the end that one of the timing tools fit, cam seals consists of a kit 1 for behind the dephaser, 1 for behind the exaust pulley,exhaust pulley bolt,dephaser pulley bolt,dephaser pulley bolt cover and a vvt solenoid seal.!! core plugs aren't the same...

I have the exact problem and have changed discs,pads,springs and exhaust mounts and still have it!!
I only got the noise once i binned the rear strutbrace! have a feeling its the shocks?
iirc there is an 8-10mm square plug on the underside of the box you won't miss it. Undo it and catch the old oil, on the front of the box is a wing nut undo that and put a 2ft piece of hose in the hole then put a funnel on the other end and refill.
