I'm guessing value for money a 182 would beat a 197 no problem - if were say going to buy a 197 at 4k, buying a 182 at 2k and putting 2k worth of mods into it would leave the 197 no problems
I think you're right, silver just seems to suit them!
Also a well cool fact Mark (@Dr Jekyll) pointed out to me, is that the McLaren F1 GTR used to have the exact some wheels fitted
I wasn't lying when I said I'd caught the track bug...already bought myself some track wheels!

Now I was keeping an eye out for most things - TD 1.2, OZ F1's, OZ Ultras/Supers, etc, but I fancied something a bit different from the norm, as most of them are...
Just seen the dash work Dan....looks bloody awesome, love it! Must be rewarding doing all the work yourself, definitely gives more of a sense of achievement than paying someone to do it!
Thanks both, can't wait for the next track day - once I get some AD08's on it we'll see how well it goes against your Saxo/106's, looking forward to it!
So anyway, more work done on the car - slowly getting around to fitting all my bits!
Mate helped out this time, which made life so much...
Awesome write up Tim, found that interesting - some nice results from the Clios too!
That polo has got a nice bit of torque @ 270! More than both the Meg's
I'd of thought the ZLET Corsa would of made a bit more than 211bhp, guessing it's pretty much standard? (Assuming it's a Z20let)
Thanks Mark, I'll have a look but it already sound like an awesome idea!
Would love to keep it that little bit more genuine, but can't afford to pay a garage £100+ labour every few months for something that I can do myself! Would rather it done by myself more often then getting a garage to do...
So onto the more exciting bit, most of all this preparation has been done in time for my first Trackday at Llandow at RSUK
First time ever on the track, but had an absolute amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed it! Massive thanks to both @SimpleJoee and @josh11490 for showing me the ropes, if I...
Thanks all for the kind words, very pleased how it came up!
So quite a bit to update! First was my brake refresh/upgrade :

Fedoro DS2500 Front Pads
Brembo Rear Pads
Brembo HC Front Discs
Genuine Renault Rear Discs (Didn't fit as old discs still have plenty...
Ah that was you in the flame red, lovely looking car! Always liked flame red, just a shame they didn't do it in a 182
What wheels were they you were on? Looked a bit like Ultraleggera's, or I thought they might of been them MSW alloys which are quite similar?
Got to back Joe up, this really doesn't need ITB's as it seemed to keep up with the 4 (could of been even more infact) ITB'd 106's/Saxo's on the straights no problem
Wicked car Joe, was really impressed how it went, handled and stopped! Doesn't make it seem so bad you got rid of the 182 now!
I've had Michelin PS3's on my 182 a couple of times now, and am tempted to try something else as the last set wore a little sooner than I'd like on the front, although the rears wore extremely well! But I have to hand it to them besides from that they were fantastic
Went 205/45/16 the first...
Should of updated this earlier, but here we go...*Picture Heavy*
Gave the Clio it's first machine polish, using a DAS-6 Pro with a selection of Menzerna Pads and Polishes
Went really well, thoroughly pleased with it. Didn't cut too aggressively as it was my first time using a DA and was...
Thanks for all the help all, finally got around to actually changing them and surprisingly it went very well!
Lines all changed, nothing too difficult to undo but the flared nut spanner was really useful
When it came to bleeding the brakes a couple of the bleed nippled were difficult to undo...
This looks awesome on the Turinis and slightly lower, bloody love it - planning to get it mapped?
Also, may be time to sell the R53 and put the money into this one...?
I have ET38.5 Turinis, with 10mm Axle spacers and I'm Cooksport Springs and have no issues
Even when I had a boot load of stuff and it was this height I still didn't have any rubbing amazingly lol, but I wasn't exactly pushing on
Admittedly I'm on 195's rather than 205's
Awesome write up Mark, and pleased to hear you've got it sorted
Their customer service sounds awesome, and nice to see they explained it to you and didn't try to hide the issue - Yes having the problem in the first place wasn't ideal, but having it solved without a fuss is the main thing
Also...
I'm on Cooksports, Rear ARB and PMS Top Mounts & Strut Brace and it feels very planted and sure footed
I'm also on Polybushed/Solid Engine Mounts and on Michelin PS3's which I'm sure help contribute, also refreshing the shocks for new Cup ones helped
Always fancied a Corsa VXR, infact almost sold the Clio for a Forged one running 270bhp on a Ko4
Couple of things always put me off - Reliabilty and Handling
Reliability with the 4th piston and gearbox, but I think that's down to neglect as much as anything
Handling from what I've read and...
I do 40 mile round trip in mine each day to work, most of which are done on a B road/country lanes, and I genuinely look forward to the drive home each day (unless it's pissing down the rain)
To must it's stupidly loud and not an ideal daily, but it puts a smile on my face when I'm driving and...
Looks fantastic now Mark - keep me updated on how your finding the GAZ's, I'm seriously tempted!
Can't help but think it could do with some spacers on the front? Front wheels look lost under the arches now it's a bit lower...
Saw a lowered Red JCW R56 in my local town today, and man didn't it look awesome!
They've really grown on me recently, although they do look quite a big car (for a Mini!)
Much difference between the R53 and R56 when it comes to handling?
