The gearbox isn't the same, its using a JR5 box which is basically a stronger, cable shift/hydraulic clutch JC series box. The 197/225 the nissan designed ND0 box, which is a different bellhousing pattern I think amonst other things.
Clutch wise not sure if they're similar to the 1*2 so a helix...
Yeh i've since changed to responce which is much more palletable at £8/litre, although i've got some emergency halfrauds dot 5.1 stuff in at the mo which is actually alright surprisingly. Don't know who actually makes it for them?
There was an issue with 3rd around that time of manufacture, they were replacing boxes under warrenty as far as I know. But an R27 should have the revised ratios without the problem, but either way get it back to renault.
Thats not how you fill the gearbox btw and it takes 3.5l iirc so wants a fair bit more than 1.5-2l in it if you want it to last more than 100 yards.
Box is either out of a Ph1 or a cup as the thing sticking up out the diff is the speedo sensor which you don't need. Alternator area is the power...
They're both from the alarm, if its not there anymore then no worries. Big one is signals from door switches and to the hazards etc, little one is for the siren iirc.
Same here, personally I don't want the hub to move while i'm trying to undo the carrier mounting bolts. More chance of the socket slipping off them, you want it held against the steering lock static imo.
Eibachs and dampers for driving rather than looks, coils only get better when spending mega bucks imo. Cheap ones are fine for looks sacrificing ride and handling.
They should just clip in and out unless hes pulled the wires out the crimps inside then a whole lot of hassle will follow. Will be either cutting and soldering the wires directly together or getting a bit of loom from another car and soldering that in in place.
Not a big job relevitely but theres some time involved in changing it yes fair bit of stuff to come out the way to get it out and the new one in, and it'll want a new aux belt putting back on too to do the job properly. But at least you won't need to worry about the idler and tensioner if...
It down to the cams, they're obviously optimised for high rpm use (hence 5k kick) and you can't have both without using some sort of cam changing system ala vtec.
As said 97 ron will help a little but injector cleaner isn't recommended to be used, even says so in the handbook.
Was neither, it was 5 years or 36k. The 197 runs the same aux setup as the megane I believe is fine for 72k or 5 years, the aux kit is only £40 or so for the belt and tensioner and its a half hour job max £270 is taking the piss big style. Unless they think its the same as a 1*2 where the kit is...
