Replaced inlet and breather gasket, no change in the sound. Ran car with a cone filter on and the sound is still there, anybody have any more ideas? Really frustrating!
So I've taken the inlet off again to check its all sealed, refitted it and started her up... It sounds as if its coming from directly underneath the coil pack? Am I right in saying thats the breather gasket?
Cheers
Hi Guys,
I recently changed my engine mounts all round and ever since then my car has developed a strange whistle/ whine sound at certain speeds/ throttle positions. Best I can describe it as is like a small owl is trapped under the bonnet and is howling to get out. Its coming from the passenger...
Sorry guys here is the picture.
I've already picked off the leather from the garbage wheel so I cant swap it over unfortunately. And Im sending it off to snappy.
Thanks a lot, so no need to remove the 'spider' and bracket? ie these bits:
I can just remove the mount via the three bolts with these bits in still on the car?
Hi Guys,
I've purchased a garbage steering wheel to send off for retrimming. It doesnt have any cruise control buttons on it, im just wondering if I can mount my buttons onto it after a retrim or if I've got a non cruise control wheel?
Hi Guys,
Have recently purchased a jc5 129 as a spare for my clio 182.
From reading the forum I understand that boxes are the same but I will just have to blank the speedo drive sensor?
Just checking all mountings and internals etc are the same and it will fit!
Thanks
Hi Guys, so here is a comparison of the two pumps. The 182 pump has the white sticker part no 7700840107 and the cup pump has a yellow sticker 7700840105. As far as I can see the parts are identical, even measured them and the appear to be the same in all dimensions. So im not sure whats going...
Gary said the pump was incorrect and the pump was sold as a 182 cup pump. It could be the seller fucked up and sent the wrong pump
I have both pumps in my boot, will take pictures after work.
Yeah he is. To be fair hes done me a big favour by agreeing to fit used parts and then hasnt charged me a penny for after me supplying him with a wrong part and a broken part
Hi guys, massive shout out to to Gary Burnett as after all that he ended up charging me nothing for the work .
He has also sourced a genuine new pump and I have rebooked in for a later date
I get that, hopefully they'll just give me a refund then..
Thinking about it... it doesn't make sense, and he didn't ask me either. Could have had a recon pump there Wednesday. I'll ask him about it tomorrow when I pick up the car
Thanks for getting back to me mate. Mechanic has been working all night and has only just let me know, so no. I want to call renparts first thing tomorrow with all the facts on hand
Thanks for the reply mate. It wasnt fitted because the mechanic judged the play in the shaft to be unnaceptable, does this affect the warranty on the part?
Hi Guys,
So I have a really loud power steering pump on my 182 non cup, I decided to finally bite the bullet and get it sorted. I bought a second hand one and booked in with Gaz to get it sorted.
Turns out I bought one from a CUP non AC car that has a different pump, s**t! Gaz very kindly...
