I listen for noises all the time and with the clio theres always something else I'm wondering about... but from the video I cant hear anything bad, have a look around the engine bay whilst someone revs it slightly, if your really worried book it into a specialist.
Do you think its more coming...
Ive got the powerflex purple and happy with it, the black powerflex material is much stiffer and "for track use".
I would say possibly the powerflex purple is the most commonly used but I may be wrong.
Give it an oil and oil filter change mate if not done recently, also could be worn engine mounts, gearbox mount or something making everything vibrate just that bit more.
First vid the noise is normal, as is the 2 clicks.
Second video I cant really hear anything abnormal, I know its hard to capture small rattles on video.
Also your fuel rail guard is missing?
I have my thoughts the same that it could be patched if cleaned, I took brake cleaner and white spirit and offered to see if they would let me clean it but the "guvnor" wasn't having it, I've not got a problem with patching tyres but this screw ripped a nice hole in the tyre as well and the...
Afraid not, Just looked like the inside had been coated with pva.
Apparently the only water based foam the fitter knew of was the stuff the AA used, he said mine was probably the type with ammonia or similar in, I wouldn't have risked patching it myself seeing the mess.
Amazing really the...
Took it to the tyre place I use, he showed me inside, it was like an oily white mess, I could see no patch was going to stick to it. Pain in the arse because both rears have loads of tread left. Repaired would have done me for a while.
Ordered 2x rain sport 3's, at least it's new rubber...
Cheers will get my grandads spare tyre on the rear for now then.
Hopefully the tyre place will be able to puncture repair the tyre, the foam itself is weird stuff I sprayed some to see what it was like, didnt seem like glue just like shaving foam and disappeared into little white specs when...
Came back to a low rear tyre and spotted the screw straight away, funnily enough was today looking at a spare steel / alloy to refurbish my wheels one by one.
I had to use the foam repair can, I've never looked into it properly but I remember reading once the can is used the tyre cant be...
Do the tests and see if you can rule out what it is, if it is a bearing the fronts are pressed into the hubs which you will need a press for i.e. garage job or source a second hand hub and have a new bearing pressed into that then change it over.
That's if it is the bearing.
Sounds like a wheel bearing, very possibly the gearbox but hopefully a wheel bearing as its cheaper to fix.
Spin each front wheel, the one that sounds the worst will be the one which needs the bearing replaced.
It's probably just the compound on the pads then if that's the right word. I suppose they might quieten down over time maybe once that chamfer has worn in. Or possibly not if it's a aggressive pad.
Worth doing a search to see if anyone else's 1144's squeal as much if you haven't.
Where they put onto old discs? they probably will squeal a bit even when bedded in, if its unbearable might just be worth sticking to OEM.
I've just put brembo pads on old discs (not advised in some cases I know) and they are squealing like a b**ch and even sparking at first where there was a...
I've not had the problem myself, I had mine changed when I did the cam belt.
I've heard that it wont cause damage just noise, but I've also seen a few people say it could cause damage worst case, so probably best to do a search and make your own mind up about that though.
Yeah, there's the enclosed metal oil filter that just screws on, and there is the paper filter that goes inside the plastic housing once unscrewed.
Just type the reg into euro car parts or GSF, that *should* get the correct one :).
I expect you will do well out of these if they fit good, Id put my name down for some but mine are in OK condition and planning to have my wheel retrimed which to me was the only option apart from the carbon fiber ones you could buy.
Glad someone has finally made some up !
