put it this way i sold it 4300 in perfect nick last year with more bits and pieces on it. Fair play to the lad for trying to make some cash out of it, but dont think it'll sell somehow, especially with the number of owners it has
you could sand it flat with some ultra fine sandpaper and then pc it back to a shine. but i'd try and take it back to the garage to get them to sort it. although they'll probably just do the same
my old 1.2 got 0.2 on the emissions test and the examier said it was right on the limit of being retested :D massive sigh of relief so ill be taking the 172 back to the same tester lol
lol! yeah think it has about 6 owners on it now, ridiculous...
if anyone wants some close up pics of the bumper send us a pm and i'll send a couple across, looked awesome until the filler started sagging. Def not a 172 replica as well, the only 172 things on it are a rear bench and a rear bumper
i too was quoted around 2k for a virtually full respray with the side strips removed, front was already done, and then to have the handles removed and solenoids sorted. not worth it unless your gonna keep the car for some time.
i'd never buy another black car to be honest. not so much the fact it always looks dirty, but more because it shows any scratches any door dents are exaggerated summit shocking which is a massive concern when you have to park in a public car park like me.
i actually saw a mk2 ph2 in black with white wheels and thought it was your car getting a run out, but it was Mark A's old car on the speedlines once i found it lol
settled a bit, especially as theres no plaster or crap being used to weigh it down. made the most of the day with a 3hr trip back home, you would have been proud of the route lmao.
Just a few pics, most of them are of my car though, yes i am a pic ***** :) Nice to meet some new people, and catch up with the old ones. Lovely weather too, shame i wear glasses and now look reminisent of a panda lol.
of the companies who would insure me flux wanted 2k, tesco wanted £3.5, hastings direct wanted £4,800...
got refused insurance off a load of people so had to reinsure with admiral for £1500. lmao i love insurance companies
i probably wont get there till about 8, so fingers crossed ill be able to get in without too much of a queue as i doubt i can get up any earlier than 5.30 lmao
