cornburn was selling his from stafford, but not many come up for sale tbh.
doubt ill be selling mine for a while lol
as for centre caps chris - am in runcorn on wednesday so could meet you in the evening, or at the weekend as going trafford centre area to meet russ.
pros - cheap, look really nice, rare, handling as standard is superb, in fact i put mine on coilovers which actually made the suspension worse!
cons - not the most easy drive, insurance is expensive
if you wanna go down this route then im selling some koni yellow rear dampers that are only a few months old. should be off the car sometime next week :)
best bet is to use some acoustic fabric type material and clad it over a thin piece of board.
russ@gasperformance trimmed his in the back with an alacantra type material which is a really good match for the doorcards, and i think he sells it by the metre as well.
all you need is normal paint, if you feel your engine cover after a long drive, it may be slightly warm at best, but by no means hot, so therefore is safe
if its been cut i wouldnt bother unless youve got an aftermarket induction. but you can fit an uncut one with a bit of fiddling if your using the ph1 airbox.
i'd recommend a yozzasport one, but im biased and everyone is different.
ive been speaking to longlife about supplying me with a sports cat and they were very pleasant and seemed to know what they were talking about, so if youve used them before then i cant see them going far wrong.
exactly what my driving school teacher told me!
my old 1.2 used to do it quite alot which made me look like a bit of a moron in tescos carpark, but when i swapped to a momo gearknob i cant recollect it ever doing it again.
i bought some 'classic fusion' ones off ebay. pysically brilliant at clearing the screen but they didnt click into the wiper properly so the passenger one would move like crap lol.
'has' used the PIAA ones and rates them highly too, and personally i think they look better.
should be 2ish years old so should be under the mechanical failure part of the warranty.... i know some people start the car with the clutch depressed, but starting it in reverse??
phase 1 172 will fit the phase 2 172 as some of them share the same size cats. (which is a squarish one from memory) however if the phase 1 originally had the twin catalyst convertor then it wont fit as it'll be too short.
otherwise a 182 cat is a higher quality freer-flowing one so that...
not normally as its stored on the ecu error log. the only lights that sort themselves are those that have a self testing facility (like seatbelt lights) so if you fix it the light goes off. shouldnt be looking at much if you avoid the dealer.
very similar list of modifications to makavelli. cant remember the exact bhp reading he got, but his car was rr'd with a standard 182 and his made 12bhp more. so that would be a good guide to use
