I *THINK* Its these (T5) sometimes t5 also shows up the bigger 501 sidelight type bulbs but I think these smaller ones linked are the right size.
Can be had from renault for about a quid each if your close to one...
Hmm I think I'll check the rears out again after you saying that, the noise also came a few months after me adjusting my handbrake cable, does anyone know if that would make the pads touch the disc more even when not under braking?
Why did you have your box changed mate? That's one thing I...
I think I will but if I'm looking at 700 ish for a box rebuild I could really do with saving that 100 on discs first as there only 2 years old, but yeah I think I'll have to to rule that out.
I think it is the box the way the noise chirps but tbh I can't tell.
Hankook V12's or Uniroyal rainsport 2's are something to search into, those two are talked about a fair bit.
Im running the hankooks, although I agree with what someone said about the soft tyre walls I do like the tyre for the money (£67 each on Camskill).
Im looking for a passenger splash guard, the lower one that attaches to the front bumper.
Apart from a breakers who wanted a lot for it I cant find one. Admittedly I haven't search amazingly hard so if anyone has one please contact me.
But I want to know for example if a 1.2 or 1.6 splash...
Love the mod, Looks great!
Hope you dont mind me posting it in here, but im glad someone said about the wiring, I checked it (had my ktec out to inspect something else)
It appears under my induction hose the 2nd circle down before had some sort of unused clip and that was wearing away at the...
Well I put the old air box back in which reduced some air noise, but the whine is still there, lately I've been constantly putting it into neutral at speed to listen where its coming from, so even though somethings starting to wear when driving normally and ignoring it its not that bad.
I...
You need to take the rear lights off the car, clean the metal clusters with wd40, clean the metal connectors and bottom of bulbs slightly then reassemble.
Had the same problem myself recently and a clear of the connections solved it.
Also squirt a bit of wd40 inside the connector that...
When I removed the oil about 2.9L came out I read that not all 3.1 or .2 would come out, but I'd guess Im the first person to change the gear oil so hopefully it wasnt low.
Its a strange one, I think the noise is made worse by the air noise, I will put the OEM airbox back in and see what...
Did you fit it yourself? Ive read into the guide and think I could do it but Im not sure I really want to! i.e. on my drive.
The cars only on 65k! if it is the diff Its very annoying
Edit: just seen your second post. If it was something that needed doing, Id probably buy a second hand...
Ok I will do the tests and hope it just a bearing !
A few questions if you wouldnt mind answering for me:
What would be the cause of the diff bearings whining? Harsh driving? anything to do with poor gear changes?
I guess it cant be pin pointed but if the diff IS making this noise, what...
Ok I will try the Pads out and wheel spin test, but seeing as the noise happens at around 40 will I be likely to spot if its the bearing?
I guess the left to right rock on the wheel should be one front wheel off the ground one on yeah? Is it best to have someone hold the steering wheel tight...
I guess the Diff is inside the gearbox then?
I will stick the airbox back in and change the oil back to correct grade instead of cheap carlube 75w90 and see if it makes a difference.
This is the noise, it sounds louder on the video, but in person its still noticeable.
Might need to turn the...
Following on from this thread: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?666612-Replaced-gearbox-oil-very-faint-whine&highlight=bearing+gearbox
I'm creating a new one because I want to diagnose what I now think is a bearing noise.
This came about a few weeks after changing the gearbox oil...
Dan, I want chrome ones I already have mine painted silver, so ill have to find a matching chrome one seeing as I cant polish my current painted one, the shiny one in the picture has a metal type coating and polished up well.
I dont think theres any chrome underneath I'm just wondering if it...
My current door bullets are sprayed silver from when I bought the car, there fine but I want what I thought where from factory on all sports, chromed?
I bought a set of chrome ones to polish up, one side fine, the other side too pitted to rescue. So I thought I'd take my current passenger side...
Ment to comment on this yesterday after I read it.
Shame about the rear window but aside from that the cars looking great, I'm sure you'll fall back in love with it soon.
I thought Id see what the rear lights look like shopped on after seeing comments above. They have a raised bit though which would stick out if they even fitted. I half like them :quiet:
De-grease then once the cars dry I take it for a spin round the block to warm up the tyres, then back to dress when there bone dry and warm. Best method for me.
