Sounds good, should have done a project thread with pics! not too late if you have got pics, would be interesting to see.
F1's in anthracite would be nice I think.
Second hand cat in good condition would be a good option, should fit if the scorpions normal.
Make sure they use a genuine renault manifold to cat gasket kit if its needed.
Ok cheers Dan, Just need to get through the MOT then i'll go from there.
For the OP could changing the ball joints finish off wheel bearings? or will it be something else?
I thought you didnt need to get the wheel alignment changed after ball joints? thought it was just track rods?
Ive bought the cheaper option of ECP, not expecting them to last as long as the Lemforder though.
Haha Danny, he does crack me up, I try to tell him but he seems to think he's right.
Geordie nah he thinks now the filter is in there, the restriction from it might have caused some idling sensor to idle properly.
But still yeah it was plain as day the new plugs have helped, he just makes me...
This to me at the moment feels like a very stupid question, but my grandad seems to brainwash me with his old school technical side of things.
He has a 1.2 clio and I bought him some new filters all round oil/air/pollen etc.
He said the car was running bad lately and missfiring, so we changed...
I bought a second hand small compressor for a £100, sold the tonnes of cheap hoses and guns that came with it, made £50 back, and bought a HVLP (high volume low pressure) gun.
Start up costs are high tbh (compared to a few spray cans at £6 a pop) and had I not done it on the cheap it wouldnt...
Looks like a keep trying job that mate, if you can get a very thin file between the pinch gap so you can close the thing tighter that might work.
I'd try some stubby plyers and force.
Not bad then.
Roughly remembering how much I paid for DIY handle colour coding on my 1.2:
Spare handles £9 (easier then sell the unpainted ones after), Halfords filler primer £6, colour £6, clear £6...
Adds up fast, unless your planning on DIY colour coding a lot of things and using any left...
I bought one off ebay to replace the old one which had nothing wrong with was just sagging.
Just been under the car a few months later and the "new" one looks worse than the one I took off that had probably been there since the start.
So like said I'd stick with Renault.
Will do, but with tax, MOT and insurance in the way its another thing that needs doing, along with rear shocks!
Where they a dead easy swap? I know its only 2 bolts then the ball joint bolt, but when we did it on my grandads 1.2 one side jacked up we had to wrestle the bolts into place, Both...
Welcome.
Yeah it could be the rear shocks if that the feeling your getting, they can be bought as a pair for under a hundred on Ebay.
I *think* there is a guide if you become a member to view the guides section but its still straight forward to swap them over.
Maybe check the springs in case...
Excellent, thanks for your help.
Also with 2k lacquer, am i supposed to add the 10% of thinners with 2k thinners and not normal thinners?
And am i supposed to clean the gun out with 2k thinners? (think I've got that wrong its been a while since ive painted)
I've just used plastic primer instead of normal primer on some interior grab handles and mirror caps as I understand it helps the paint dry without going funny.
I've bought a small 250ml pot of black gold, and I *think* the thinners I have is just normal thinners, I want to spray colour this...
Chances are because the new pads have more material on them, when you wind the pistons in the level will rise so
You won't have to top up the level unless it's below min.
Letting the level drop below min is only something you worry about when flushing through with new brake fluid.
If your...
Get a pressure washer on those arches, weight saving after all that dirt has gone ;)
Also might be worth supporting the car with something like a axel stand or bricks next time, just in case.
Doesn't matter how quick the job is those scissor jacks slip very easily.
