Thanks for the replies everyone. I was sort of hoping the elongated hole meant they'd accommodate all bolt spacings for Clios, I'm just happy that they'll fit!
You'll need to sand it down until it's smooth using increasing grades of wet&dry paper, then 2/3 coats of primer, give it a light sanding with the highest grade of wet&dry you have, then whatever colour you're putting on, probably 3 coats of that. Let it dry properly, then 2 or 3 coats of lacquer
Hmm ok, I've never noticed that before. I may have only ever taken the side strips off my old 3 door clio, haven't had the need to do it on my 5 door so I can't help you much sorry :/
Not entirely sure what part of the car that is. The way I take off the bumpstrips is to get something blunt, cover it in a cloth or something to stop it scratching the paint, and use it to push the rear bumpstrip towards the front of the car and the front one towards the rear.
Just bought some coilovers but I fear I may have mistakenly ordered the wrong ones. How do you measure the bolt spacing? Is it the middle of one hole to the middle of the other? I bloody hope it is because that'd make it 58mm (which is what I need)
How should I measure it, or is it ok as it is?
Have a look in here for ideas. It's probably best to start at the end and work your way back.

I'll do that immediately, thanks so much.
EDIT: Just rang him, he said his machinery is too large to do that sort of thing and recommend I just use a dremel to get the centre bore big enough to fit over and that the wheel bolts would centre the wheel anyway.
I don't feel confident in doing...
Thanks for the reply. £20 would be great, is it engineering places I should be looking for? I'm struggling to put together a google search because I don't really know what sort of place I'm looking for.
Centre bore on the wheels I have is too small and I need them increased from 57.1mm to 60.1mm. I've rang up some local engineeringy type places, some of them won't do it and the cheapest quote I've had is £80 for the set of 4 wheels.
Is there anyone nearby who would be able to do it? Or could...
Anthracite looks the best, I was hoping the bronze was going to look a bit better than that, I sort of had my mind set on bronze. Thanks again Knuckles.
Yeah I always forget tyre shine. Anyone recommend some decent stuff?
Ah right well thanks a lot for the effort! Impressive work on the windscreen too :P
Would anyone else be so kind as to try a few different colours for me? (cheeky I know) Anthracite and bronze are the ones I'm mainly considering.
Another wheel photoshop request I'm afraid. Perhaps there should be a separate section for this sort of thing?
Anyway, if anyone would be so kind as to photoshop these wheels:
Onto this car:
I'd very much appreciate it. Colours I'm interested in are anthracite, an even darker gunmetal...
Thanks for the many replies. As previously stated, I will be getting the wheels re-bored.
There are no spigot rings in them. I don't believe they are Oz wheels but I could be wrong, I have no idea what they are, just thought they looked alright so worth a punt for the price.
So the front spacers are s**tty too? They're hubcentric, which I thought is what you said I needed for the back?
I'm no longer debating the role of the hub, my issue is with the little aluminium protrusion on the spacer itself. My point is that this cannot provide the exact same load baring...
I'm referring to the metal bit that the wheel sits on, very crudely pointed out in the above picture. Since the centre bore takes some of the load, how can such a thin piece of metal provide structural support? Surely it isn't as strong as the centre bore itself. So my point/question is, why is...
Pretty much exactly the response I was expecting, except yours was actually helpful, thanks!
I understand your point but with regards to the small ring on the front but not on the rear spacers, does that really make such a difference? I remember one of them falling off due to the weight of the...
Ok, so I bought a set of alloys off ebay after several messages back and forth between me and the seller in order to establish if they'd fit my car. They're the correct pcd (4x100), offset and width are fine and then he said that they had previously been on a clio so I thought great! However, I...
Comes to £32.05 for me if you change the size of the front plate. Not entirely sure how you enter the discount, you might have to contact them beforehand or order over the phone.
If you become a full member you'll get discount at fancyplates.com
They also do custom sized plates so that you can get the slightly cut down front plate so it fits in the recess a bit more nicely, like below.
Definitely go for clean plates though, keep your car looking fresh
I can see that, nice job! I was just urging Zander to do the same, although that's slightly hypocritical of me since my car is disgusting at the moment, but I have exams next week! :P
I helped him do it and no, we didn't remove the front bumper. It's really easy to do without having to remove the bumper. The grill is only held in by a series of clips so you can get it off and a new one on in about 5/10 minutes.
