Currently in the process of removing the tints my car came with. Got the tints off all the windows but this little piece behind the rear windows is a bit annoying to get at, so I'm considering leaving it there. Just wondering what people think?
Correct, they are in fact Renault 19 alloys. Here's a link to the for sale thread if you're still interested: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?722277-Renault-19-16v-alloys-white
My 1.2 16v before it was replaced by my dci. (Car and wheels now for sale separately)
I had some more plans for this, hopefully I'll get the dci looking how I want it and then post that in here too.
In keeping with common Cs opinion, I'm not a fan of the bodykit. You started off well with the wheels in my opinion, keep going along those lines and you'll be onto a winner. You've got a good base to modify there, I personally wouldn't have gone for quite so much blue inside but it's an...
I've heard good things about spax rsx (can't remember who from) but they are a little over budget. I think I saw the fk highsports for ~£350 somewhere and I've heard nothing but good things about fk so they probably top my list for the moment. Haven't heard great things about v-maxx though.
I...
Thanks for the information sburrell, that's very useful to me.
Thanks for the reply ThomasBretnall but I'm going to be looking for coilovers with a bit better performance. I liked the cheap lows on my 1.2 but have got used to the good handling and comfort of my dci so will have to go for...
Would anyone be able to tell me the bolt spacing on my car? I have a 2004 (53 plate) mk2 ph3 Clio dci80. I have done a few searches but couldn't find anything so was hoping someone might know to save me trying to measure it myself. My 1.2 mk2 ph2 was 58mm spacing but not sure if all non sports...
I got everything colour coded professionally on my last car (including door handles). I'm not sure how to get them off the old one and onto the new one though! Price varies, I got the 172 rear bumper included whilst colour coding. You could probably pick one up for £50-£80 and then either spray...
I also own an odyssey ph2 dci! Check out my project thread for mod ideas if you like: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?722957-Barnett-s-Odyssey-dci
Things I'd recommend are:
Remap - will increase your power by minimum 30% (my dci 80 has about 115hp now)
172 rear bumper -...
Make me an offer for the centre caps, I live in Horfield BS7. Yes I do have a white set on eBay at the moment, don't suppose you want another set for spares? ;)
They look like Renault 19 16v alloys to me. (I'd know because I have a set) Also I have a set of centre caps if you're interested in some?
Edit: If they're 15x6.5J with ET36 then they definitely are.
Forgot to mention that I also put 20mm spacers on the front and 16mm on the back. The wheels don't sit as far out as I'd like but I had issues on the last car with tyres scrubbing the arches on the back. Does anyone know the maximum you can space the back out on a non sport with 172 alloys...
Thanks Joss. I'm tempted by coilovers as the front is too high in my opinion, the back sits about right but it almost seems to have reverse rake which I don't like.
However the ride is really smooth at the moment so I'm reluctant to change the suspension. I had a quick look around the internet...
Thanks for the comments guys. If anyone has any suggestions for things to do to the car I'd love to hear them as I'm struggling to think of anything else other than removing the tints
Recently purchased a dci which is starting to come along now so thought it was time for a thread.
I used to own (and still do own as it's up for sale at the moment) a 1.2 16v, which I bought completely standard and ended up looking like this when I'd (nearly) finished with it.
Progress thread...
Your plans sound good, definitely get some more subtle alloys in my opinion though. To upload the photos properly you need to copy and paste the image code, you can get to it by clicking the little options button in the top right corner of the picture and going onto 'get links'.
Anthracite...
Ah right ok. Best way to go about it would be to get a set of coilovers (suspension), they're adjustable so you can get it to exactly the ride height you want.
Spacers are shims that are placed between the wheel and the hub to which you bolt the wheel, they make the wheels sit further out.
I don't know the very most you can lower a non-sport. Why do you want it as low as possible? It will look broken and stupid, this is coming from someone who likes...
You won't be anywhere near scrubbing. I had a problem with scrubbing but that was when my non-sport was lowered way more than 30mm and spaced out 25mm a side at the back. Here's my dci that's been lowered 30mm on Eibachs:
As you can see, nowhere near the arches.
Agreed, I was just answering the question of dci vs 1.4.
However, I had to fork out £2660 for my first year's car insurance on a 1.2 16v clio and that was 2 years ago, that price sounds about right, scandalous as it is.
Dci Dynamique is better in every way...
Better fuel economy, more torque, more power if you remap it, cheaper road tax (£20 per year). Just get a dci, srsly.
