Thanks for all the replies. I wasn't expecting much in the way of performance gains to be fair, wouldn't mind it sounding a bit less tractory though. Anyone have any recommendations for fairly cheap?
Recently got a dci and was thinking about doing something with the air intake (if it's even remotely worth doing), I've seen some people make a cold air feed coming in through the foglight holes and was thinking about doing something similar or just relocating the cold air feed.
Anyone have any...
I didn't check diesel prices at the time because I didn't even think about getting one. Worth having a look though, I'm not sure of the prices for new drivers anymore.
Comments above should answer everything about the differences in spec. I'd suggest getting a diesel though, I've just bought a 2004 dci80 and it's a huge improvement from my old 1.2 16v, they're amazing on fuel (I get over 80mpg), they have loads more torque and with a remap have more than...
If I was you I'd avoid the black rear lights, I'm also not a huge fan of the alloys. You're definitely on the right tracks going for an RS grill though. Consider colour coding, a 1*2/cup spoiler, silvervision indicator bulbs, 1*2 interior etc.
Lowering definitely improves the look of the car, I...
Just got a 2003 clio dci, unfortunately the previous owner put some ridiculous multicoloured bulbs in the boot light and interior roof light. Just wondering if anyone could suggest some nice white bulbs?
Thanks
Pretty sure I've seen them on a sport before but certainly not on a non sport. I've tried looking through a few websites but can't figure out whether they'll fit in the arches or not. Details to follow:
15x8" fronts, 15x9" rears
offset: et 0
I imagine such a low offset will make them stick...
I do like some of the mods you've done. The tinted rear lights aren't to my personal taste, I think they look good very lightly tinted but not as much as you have done them, also not a bit fan of the splitter.
If I was you I'd colour code it all around, get an rs grill, a skoda splitter and...
Spacers are essentially metal shims that you put between the wheels and the hubs, they allow the wheels to sit further out, giving your car a wider track. Which will make it look better and make it handle ever so slightly better, but I don't imagine you'll notice a different on a car such as...
Parked up next to my filthy non sport. Had ph2 rear lights, 3/4 front plate, looks lowered to me and has black oz f1s. Also said something sport on the rear windows, can't remember what it was now though.
Anyone on here?
Reminds me of this advert I saw a couple of years ago. Even funnier if you ask me and definitely worth a read. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-FORD-FOCUS-GHIA-1-8-Zetec-Very-Clean-Interior-/220768216260?nma=true&si=lxRbSDlmOQwcxxi0MZ8FMFRi2MQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
That is quality. Highlight for me was, "We’ve got some front and rear fog lights, for use in fog. But if you are the kind of numpty that drives round with them on in the day to look cool, I don’t like you, and you should buy a different car."
I'm not sure if you'd be able to get a decent dci in your budget but if you can i suggest you get one rather than a 1.2 16v. I have a 1.2 16v and wish I'd have gotten a dci, despite the dci 65 being a bit slower to 60mph they pull right through the rev range, are easy to get power gains from and...
Sorry but this seems to have been glossed over... I don't claim to be a car expert at all but a 1.4 16v clio beat a 1.8 turbo civic? This seems distinctly unlikely to me.
I'd also recommend dual optics, I forgot to mention that in my last post. By the way I believe your car is odyssey blue. It looks like it to me (I also have an Odyssey), didn't think they did Monaco on ph1s, if they did I don't think there would've been many of them.
Plans sound good to me. If I was you I'd get as many ph2 parts on it as possible, cup spoiler, ph2 172 rear, ph2 rear clusters, maybe even ph2 side strips but that's just me. ph2 172 alloys don't look right on a ph1 to me (I may be the only one who thinks this) so I'd go for 15" oz f1s or...
Ah right I see, why did you bother taking the bumper off? didn't even need to jack it up (and it's pretty low), just got myself under the bumper and popped all the clips out.
I'm talking about removing the rear bumper insert, are we talking about the same thing? Or did you mean something else? Weren't any screws in mine, it was just like removing the front grill but easier to get out.
Haha yeah wouldn't really know what was going on if you weren't in your clio.
No I got them sprayed professionally by richwilkins50 on here, he did a great job for a great price too.
Thanks :) I haven't filled the gaps, it may just look like they have been filled from certain angles haha. I...
Yeah that would've been me, up until last week I lived in the flats right by there. Yeah it would've been filthy :o white wheels are so hard to keep clean! :dapprove:
Thanks though :)
Thanks Chip. I really do love this car, only problem I have is that I wish it was a bit faster. Not insanely quick but I just wish it was a dci 100 or something similar so that it had a bit more pull in it, especially in the lower rev range. However as I probably won't be getting any decent...
Haha glad I'm not the only one! I fancy either some 172 alloys or some oz f1s and refurb them in anthracite/dark grey. Want something a bit more OEMish but in anth really. Once I get a bit of money in I'll buy some, get them refurbished, then sell on my current wheels. Hopefully I'll get decent...
Thanks for the kind words :) I'm still not really happy with it as I've gone off the alloys and would like some xenons. But I do occasionally see it from certain angles and think hmm, that does look pretty damn good. :P (not sure if that's vein but oh well)
Absolutely love this. Pretty much exactly how I'd have a clio looking if I had unlimited funds. If I was you I'd never have the heart to sell it! You must've spent loads on making it look like that. I'd do an engine conversion when money/insurance allows it and keep that perfect looking car...
Looks good and plans sound good too. Sucks getting hit by some scooter but could be a blessing in disguise as it's the perfect excuse to get a 172 rear bumper, which transform the look of the back end in my opinion. A few more suggestions too: I think the front grill could benefit from a...
