Upon breaking with any sort of force, there's a grinding noise which sounds like it's coming from the front passenger side wheel. My first thought was that it was the arch rubbing against the tyre as my car is lowered quite a lot on coilovers, but surely if that was the case it would make the...
Haha fair enough.
No I didn't happen to see that colour whilst I was there actually, sounds interesting though! I notice your progress thread hasn't been updated in quite some time. Be sure to post some pics when they're done!
Yes they are fk LED rear lights, wasn't sure about them until I put the 172 bumper on but really like the way the back end looks now. They definitely didn't look as good with a standard non-sport bumper in my opinion, check out some of the earlier pics if you're interested.
Yeah I do need to...
Yeah that's right. Pretty happy with the work they did for the price to be honest! They're just a bit of a pain to get hold of and I ended up waiting outside for a few hours because they told me they were ready when they actually weren't. Shouldn't be a problem for you since you're from...
Thanks for the kind words guys :) studs were from rarerims at £1 a stud. As stated though I was sent the wrong ones, I have emailed them about it but had no reply so far :/ the nuts were some used ones from ebay, put a cheeky bid on and managed to get them cheap ~£20 posted. They're not much...
Biggest update since coilovers!! (pic heavy)
I've been fairly busy recently with new parts. Had the new brakes fitted last weekend and had the coilovers wound down then too.
This week I've done a stud conversion with some neo chrome nuts (unfortunately I was sent the wrong length studs so...
Please don't fit a roof box to your car, it's beyond bent. Don't understand this whole "scene" thing going on and I'm 18, especially wanting it to spark, to me it seems like something a 6 year old kid who's fascinated by fire would do. From that picture earlier your car looks really good so just...
I think I should be able to handle some soldering. Did you buy a kit for it? If so a link would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, it's always annoyed me the yellowy/orange lights, makes it look dated.
That's true, the colour is nice. Just the sticker ruins it for me tbh, if you talk to Ady on here he'll sort you out with an airbag sticker the right size and font for like £2.50
New Brembo discs and pads went on today. Also wound the coilovers down a bit more, about 15mm more at the front and took the rear adjusters out. Will get pics up on Sunday most likely to show new stance as spacers should be here by then.
Out with the old:
In with the new!
I don't understand why people buy these sort of cars brand new. I think I'd only ever get a brand new car if I was loaded and it was a supercar really. If I had 10k+ to spend on a car, the last car that pops to mind would be a 1.2 clio. I understand that if it's for a young driver you can't just...
Ah ok thanks Kieran.
I've found sets of lockers in red, blue and black. But these would go with the non extended types, so I wouldn't be able to get the type I wanted.
How common are wheel thefts? I doubt my wheels would be that desirable anyway given their age and they're a love/hate thing...
Haha they weren't even fat so I don't understand why the springs compressed quite so much really.
I don't think they're wide, but when I bought them I was told that the offset made them sit out 10mm more than standard, which means they were spaced 26mm all around, but I thought that was still...
A bit of a setback today. Whilst giving some of my friends a lift, the extra weight in the back caused the tyres to scrub the arches, the tyre walls are now fooked so I've taken off the spacers from the back, ordered some 6mm ones instead and ordered some new tyres.
Pics of the damage:
I did see those ones from rare rims on here, I got the idea from spinksy since he just got the 'neo chrome' ones. Problem is they don't offer lockers.
Kieran, did the colour fade or anything like that since you got them? Thanks
Thanks, I'm still leaning towards blue at the moment to try to keep the white and blue theme going, plus I think they'd still stand out quite a bit against the white.
I've been in touch with rare rims and they just directed me to their sister company nuts4wheels's ebay shop and I couldn't find...
What colour do you have then and how much do you want for them? ;)
If I did go for black I could probably get them cheaper elsewhere, do you know of any other brands that would offer locking nuts with them?
I want to get some studs and nuts for my car, was looking at tegiwa ones as they are the only ones I've found that do lockers where you can't tell the difference. I was thinking about getting purple (the same ones Kieran had on A11 WUP) but thought since I have a blue car, maybe blue would be...
You don't have to have it scraping the floor, even just a 40mm drop so you could keep your standard shocks and just swap the springs, that'd be better than standard. Arch gap is ridiculous on these things I reckon. Colour coding and an RS grill are always a win though :)
Thanks! Yeah I'd definitely recommend an RS grill, I also sprayed mine satin black which I think makes it look even better since they come in a dark grey as standard. Other cheap things I'd suggest would be silvervision indicator bulbs, clear side repeaters, aero wipers and you should be able to...
